Why don`t they play 3 tests and just play him in 2 of them, they could have just pretended that he was injured for last one.
I guess Tendulkar will play for atleast another 5 yrs because most players in the past used to play till 45 yrs or more.
And in regard to BCCI, they can do whatever they want to do, otherwise what use power is of?
I hope BCCI also used their power to grant ireland a test status.
so you are for BCCI bullying other cricketing nations and dictating terms.
I dont know which team you support, but as indian fan I want to see more matches with stronger teams, like SA Pakistan and etc.
I personally dont think this rankings have any meaning. SA will play half the no of games England, Aus, and India play and still will be ranked first. Teams like Pak barely play Eng, Aus and India. So how do you determine fairness? Surely the lower ranked teams like WI, NZ SL have no chance to climb up the rankings as they dont play the top teams as often and when they do they play 2match series which are always going to be draws.
This test championship has no meaning cause it is created in such away that you will always have Eng, Ind and Aus.
How can you expect fairness in governance of cricket when you dont have one Independent governing body.
Look at FIFA, they can withstand any opposition from most powerful national football body.
Can ICC do that?
BCCI does what is profitable for them, and why shouldnt they?
Its upto ICC and other national body to develop guts to do what they themselves want.
But they cant coz Cricket basically is indian sport.
BCCI often creates more problems than it solves
Cricket is an Indian Sport! India has the most fans (per Captia and in real terms) and players you mean??
Kabaddi now thats an Indian sport
Do they do that in the Olympics? Davidoff.
Id be very surprised, to me it looks like dodge ball mixed with wrestling.
Although I seem to remember GB/England womens team do quite well in the last international tournament
The BCCI are so rich they could easily lobby for cricket to be included in the Olympics, they would be far too powerful for the IOC.
Just imagine, India could actually win a gold medal at the games and in one stroke make the Olympics an Indian sport
One thing that always that I never understand is how do BCCI earn that money. The tickets aint anywhere as expensive as what you get here. And tickets surely is the main source of revenue?
Agree with you sprinkler.
BCCI should have lobbied for Cricket's inclusion in Olympic coz that would increase Cricket's profile and popularity. For instance, China dont give a ratasss about these non-olympic minority sport.
Also I would have liked them to lobby for Ireland as test nation as they did with bangladesh.
And many more things BCCI should have done for betterment of cricket.
But , at the end of the day, the matter of fact remains that BCCI is more concerned about Profit making and BCCI itself is run by the interest of some Power Hungry Politician.
And what good A simple fan of the game like you and me Crying over BCCI? Is it not clear as HD ?
The crux of the problem or solution thereof is ICC. Cricket needs a genuine Independent Governing body Ala FIFA. But thats again only going to happen when atleast one or other superpower with big market like China, USA,etc turns into cricketing nation .
Adding cricket to the Olympic games is an interesting topic. Take Brasil for instance, It would be costly for them to build the facilities but it would plant a seed that could grow into something big.
The only disappointing thing would be is it wouldn't be the purest for of the game on show. Would be odi and t20. Something like this could spell the end eventually, especially if big markets emerged that had no interest in the longer form
Isn't there talk about getting T20 cricket into the 2020 Olympics?
T20 is also pure. Its no prostitu.
Then again, I would rather America, china and the rest of world play atlest t20 than no cricket at all.
ATM, the majority of world population take cricket for an Orthopoda( insect)
It's a shame that the #1 ranked team has to yield to the whims and fancies of the #3 ranked team because the latter is rich by ad income.

SA cricketers deserve better. The last three test series between SA and India generated high quality cricket.
I do not like the way BCCI is bossing over CSA, but the latter should be mindful of financial losses to it if the scheduled tour is shortened or cancelled. Put your egos aside and work together.
I would love to see Steyn and Philander bowling to unproven but promising young Indian batsmen.
Dont see them reaching an agreement. Especially as the window for the series is only like 4 weeks.
What did Lorgat actually do to offend BCCI officials? By his looks, I thought he might be of Indian descent.
