If that isn't our next england game starting 11. #Cut4RevRamsey

everyone can see Walcott is frustrated with lack of service
==================================
he was supposed to be the one providing service to Lambert, No?

I rate Ox, and Wilshere, but they need good players, not Gerrard and Lampard who should both retire and let the next group play

Gerrard's been playing DM since the Euros at least

we've only conceded 3 goals in the last 10 competetive matches

not sure how much more you want to get out of a defensive midfielder

having a go at the attacking players might be a better target

But I still see that
Tackle by Walker
And when Lambert scored
Milner belting the ball
And Ashley Young dancing

When you look at the managers England have had over the last 20yrs (and their pedigree and achievements elsewhere) maybe it’s time to accept that responsibility for England’s failings should be directed towards the players?

The trouble is England have a good domestic league

people then assume that should be the same for the national team

I think its high time someone with some stones took over the managers role and literally started from scratch, no matter how bad results were and how long it took

get rid of the old "golden" generation who are anything but golden and use younger players as a unit

wont happen, and England will go out of the WC as soon as they play a half decent team.

Agree, however when the majority of PL players are foreign it’s not that surprising the national team struggles.

When weighed against other nations (rivals) the amount of professional coaches in England pales in comparison so until this is addressed not a lot will change (IMO).

I thought Wilshere was poor for Arsenal this season too? I think Wilshere may have had a better game in a 2 man midfield. That's not to excuse his performance last night which was dire, along with Walcott's.

Gerrard needs to step down over the next 12months, he's not good enough anymore

We'd all be happy if Gerrard retired

I think Gerrard was alright last night Thudd.

Lampard on the other hand should now be told 'Thanks for the 100 caps and goodbye'.

Both should give it up before the end of this campaign so the next batch can come through

They should but they'll both end up on the plane to Brazil.

Not that the next lot look that great. At least Gerrard and Lampard get goals I suppose. Wilshere and Cleverley don't look like they do goals.

posted on 11/9/13

to be fair Lampard and Gerrard were given a chance early (as both have 100+ caps)

so why not give cleverly and wilshere a go?

along with zaha, walcott, Oxlade c, Welbeck etc

at least we would be given a chance to get behind a team that were not part of the most overrated england team of all time

it will take time, but what else do we have going on?

I don't get why the English coach doesn't start fresh, lampard, Gerrard , cole, Barry , all the old school should be booted out, start fresh with young players and build towards a new technical team, it's not that hard , the English nation team is a real snore, not creativity , vigour , just a bunch of guys together professing their love for England but never truly expressing it

"I don't get why the English coach doesn't start fresh, lampard, Gerrard , cole, Barry , all the old school should be booted out, start fresh with young players and build towards a new technical team"

we wouldn't even qualify for tournaments with the dross coming through

He continues this English policy of playing guys on reputation,

----------------

Wouldn't he be doing the same if he built a team around Wilshere. I agree that Carrick should be in the team, he been consistently good for years now, but Wilshere is not playing well enough to justify being in the England team right now.

Roy is not 'killing Jack' fffffffs.

As usual, all the calls are for 'out with the and in with the new' etc. Our 'new' aren't exactly setting the world alight are they?
It gets tedious after a while. The sooner the bigger clubs start TRULY investing in English talent as opposed to 'hovering up' any potential for the fear of a rival getting them, and stop spending HUGELY on foreign players, then the better the National Team will be. But those days are long gone imo. Could the OP stand the abuse of a nation when his exciting 'new faces of England' falls flat on it's face? I truly doubt it.

It really is that simple

And while you're on the subject of playing people out of position................................AW should never have stuck Theo on the wing. He should've been Englands next Michael Owen but Arsene thought differently, and wrongly, for both club and country.
