This is a great example of why retrospective punishment for diving is going to be quite a challenge, if it's ever introduced.
It's hard to watch that clip and come to the conclusion that he didn't dive.
But is it that simple?
I don't think it is. To me, it looks as if he is avoiding contact with the boot, by throwing his body out of the way.
I actually don't think that is particularly unnatural at full speed.
Really tough to say - but slow motion makes these things look so much worse.
Funny how no one in the media has mentioned that he dived.

To be fair, I wouldn't trust the media as a measure of whether something is a dive.
Nobody in the media used to mention Gerrard diving either.
