Sack him now.

**LATEST**

Some bloke for us had a shot which was wide. Some bloke for them took a free kick.

A lot of blokes saw the futile disappearance of thirty nine minutes of their lives that they would never get back.

Sack him for who?
And sack him with what money?
We have a manager who built a team who are currently in the premiership, I say stand by him because honestly who else is there?

To be perfectly honest, Notts, I neither know nor care who the next manager should be.

All I do know is, DF is looking increasingly clueless with his selections and tactics and the players clearly aren't up to the job in hand.

And it's the manager's job to sort it and he doesn't look capable.

This is relegation form.

Put him garden leave for the rest of the season and put absolutely anybody else in charge!

I know lets give the west stand the manager's job and lets see what they can do.

Because they certainly think they know better.

Put him on gardening leave and put JP and co in charge like we did last season.

posted on 28/9/13

I think we should get Eaves and co( all the reserves) into the team and get them playing together so they will be a settled team for next season when we drop down to the first division.

One thing is for certain, the so called first eleven , who ever they are, are not up to the job.

Dougie will have to get a win within the next three games, otherwise he's history.

Vote and place your team selection from a list of available players.
The fans vote rules and picks the team using our club id number. Go on give us a go we can't be any worse.

Phil. Sell the TV show rights for it we could be in the money and moving up the league.

I've seen worse ideas than all these...

Like picking one (poor) striker at home to Yeovil in a 'must win' game.

How many in the West Stand would have done that?

Not sure sacking freedman is the answer. Its going to take years to repair the damage coyle did to the club. If the money is there to pay off freedman and his gang and there is another Bruce or Sam available then fair enough.

Well since Derby beat us to it there is one to add to the list of available managers who I'd prefer to Dopey Doug.
Let Dopey Doug have ten without a win to make it look more justifiable if you must but then get somebody in who might b able to stop the slide.

My old man managed the 46th Bolton Delph Hill cubs
team in the '70's.

We weren't great but we were "enthusiastic" and we scored a few goals.

He's in his late 60's now but he's still keen enough.

I'll ring Darkside tomorrow.

(Dad's cheap and available. And Mum'll be glad to get him out of the way....)

The only exciting part about yesterday's game was the mouthwatering thought that after 90 mins, DF was nailed on for the Spanish Archer (El Bow) ...then someone just had to go n' ruin it in injury time

I don't think an injury time goal should be allowed to delay the inevitable. Sack them all now and give a new man a game or two before the international break. Who to choose? Well that's the million dollar question, but there are candidates out there that are unemployed at the moment and if we don't act fast we'll miss out. How Steve Bruce would've been good for us. Just look where he has taken Hull from and to!

Releasing cash to sign 3 loan players suggest the board have no immediate plans to sack freedman. That wisely old sage Leroy rosenior suggested that df had acted to address the imbalance in the squad which saw pratley play right wing a few weeks ago. At least Feeney ran at players and put a few crosses in which suggests to me the players are at fault. Lee and ngog just were not interested yesterday and deserved to come off.

Imbalance was caused by Dopey Doug and little lennie.

A little money is Phil hanging on trying to save himself. Won't be long before he reminds us that he knows about football and we don't. Turning up yesterday was a pointless exercise for players and fans.

I'll not be going on the trip to the seaside unless it's to see donkeys on the beach. Donkeys on grass with a ball just doesn't feel right, it's more boring plus it costs more.

I won't try to defend the performance yesterday but I will say that blaming Doug for the club's current state is a bit misguided. Nor was it Owen Coyle's fault, at least not solely. The truth is that we spent too much in the last days of the Big Sam Era, way too much in the Megson Era and now we don't have the resources to attract the kind of players we need to get back to the Prem and stay there. Added to that is the UEFA FFP rule about balancing the books and we're in a very tight situation with no easy way out. Dougie may well have to go soon but all that will do is add another payout to the ones we've already made to Megson and Coyle. Plus as others have already stated on this thread who would you replace him with? Who would really want the job? It's a dark time for us now but please remember we've had dark times before, much worse than these and we survived and came back stronger. I have faith that we can and will do it again. It may take a few years but it WILL happen.

Its all about perspective right now.

The club was running with a debt of 36m now it's over 130m when bricks started the lies about megson cutting costs when in fact they were allowed to run up. Phil doesn't have hindsight but I bet he wished he had given sam the money he asked for rather than be saddled with the debt we have now.

The last dark times we had were a long spiral down before we began to rise and finally Bruce came in. By the time we achieve that again many of us will have had our last day out with the co-op.

lucky Peter, we all know that at the end of the day the manager has to take the blame, they always do.

Gartside would go if I was Eddie, he has presided over our demise for too long now and as I have stated on previous occasions, Eddie is not blameless either, he has let this clown carry on making a mess of things for far too long.

Just my opinion but I think a valid one.

Folk can't keep blaming everything on lack of money. Most of the teams above us have squads that were put together for far less than we've spent on the players we have. It's more to do with managerial ability to get the very best out of whatever resource you have at your disposal. DF just doesn't have that skill ..and the players seem as if THEY don't think he knows what he's doing either. The DF CV was based on nothing more than Palaces's good run when he was managing there - fooled PG of course .... but take Zaha out of that equation, and they would have been a bottom half outfit. Luckily for them - they got a decent manager in when PG fell over himself to bring DF to Bolton.

I was convinced he was the wrong appointment for us from day 1 (as with Megson) and, like GM, he's done absolutely nothing to change my opinion of him. He'll go the same way too ..question is ... what sort of shape will our club be in, by the time the ' penny (finally) drops ' with PG & ED??

SWIE I agree that managers ultimately take the credit/blame for results and more often than not it's right that they do. All I'm saying is that in our case the last two managers have had poor cards from the start and have had to try and achieve a great deal with very little.

As to DF being the right or wrong man firstof I didn't really know anything about him as a manager when he came to us and frankly I don't know much more now.

What strikes me as odd is that a squad that came within spitting distance of the playoffs thanks to an amazing late run in the second half of last season under the same manager can now look so dreadful and lacklustre this. I think Dougie has (at most) four weeks in which to prove he can turn it round or PG will drop the boom on him anyway. Personally I think if I was Ed Davies I'd wanna drop the boom on Phil Gartside as well.

PS SWIE I totally agree with you on the ED and PG fiasco. In fact I wrote an article on the subject of who is to blame for the current mess a little while ago. In case you missed it here's the link:

Have a look at the BBC championship main page, there is a link copied below to the Championship club by club preview. Have a butchers and weep or laugh.
Based on what everybody thought and expected he deserved to go before Clough but I'll be ok with Monday morning it may help the week go by.
