I've never really been one of KM's critics.. and I'm not going to become one now. I firmly agree with SL that continuity is vital in creating a settled environment.

That said, why does KM insist on sticking either Stead or Pitman out wide? Neither are wingers. If you're going to play 4-5-1 that is fine... but don't play players out of position.

I honestly think we should stick to basics, when things are not going well. 2 lines of 4 with 2 up top and play the players in their appropriate positions... Still, in KM we trust... for now.

I Couldn't of put it better myself Mikey exactly what you said Pitman needs to partner Maynard upfront we have to start attacking play more and we will only do that with 2 strikers as Pitman has not got the pace for wide play and looks uncomfortable in that possition.

I think KM's record deserves him an opportunity at the job and that hasn't changed even after one pretty dreadful result.

However, I do feel that this is turning out to be a very unsuccessful transfer window that could well be setting up the team for a troublesome season. Defensive reinforcements are a must, yet understandably we need to sell players before signing anyone. I don't know if everything that could be done has been done. While the transfer window is still a ways from closing, I think we need to try and get things sorted early. You can't expect to play catch-up and be successful in a league as competitive as the Championship.

'after one pretty dreadful result'

It's not one result that worries me about Millen.

His success(relative) last season owed much to Caulker and Cisse playing in front the back 4.
Why he thinks our 2 left footed CHs are an improvement is beyond reason.
Not playing 'his' creative midfielder against Ipswich was, at best, strange. On the OS today he goes on about "I'm happy with how the squad is shaping up fitness-wise for Sunday's game in Cardiff." How many times have we heard that. He's fit enough to play for Australia but not Millen.
He can't think on his feet during games - why didn't he swop Adomah first half to the left Saturday, couldn't he see Jewell had an extra man in midfield, why take a front runner off and then bring Pitman on wide left !!!!

Sorry it's not one result that worries me.

I find that quite funny Mikey..

You quote "I've never really been one of KM's critics.. and I'm not going to become one now."

But them you critisise his tactics!!!!

What you're saying is......he doesn't know what he's doing......and that my friend will get us in the dire...

oftbc - You're right. Sorry.

I was TRYING not to become one of his critics. Keith has been in and around the game for many years. I'm in no position to tell him where he is going wrong.

I do however have to question his willingness to change his tactics, when they do not seem to be working.

The last game wasnt too great decision wise, but generally he is trying to sign the right kind of players.
I'm sure if a tasty defender came on the market and fancied Bristol City as an option, SL would make the funds available.
I reckon it may take 2 years before our squad is down to a realistic level, but we have to march on because the season wont stop for us and we need to be in contention. The squad size will be taken care of in the fullness of time, as contracts become fulfilled.

I see Basso played in goal for Hull during their league cup game losing 2-0 to the Silkmen at home.
Somehow can't see him playing too many more games unless there are major injury problems there.

BRR
We can all try to sign the right kind of players...
The decisions he makes are League one at best...
I fear that we stick with him too long that's exactly where we will end up.
I pray that SL & the board will know when the time is right.

Lets just see how the next 5 games go, they are quite tough so we if we do well then people should really get behind Millen as he wont be going anywhere. If not, and we lose and lose badly like we did against Ipswich then it will be times up i think.

The supporters at this club, in general, need a huge rocket up their jacksy to get going and it maybe time for the board to find that man to galvanise this club once again.

It has to be the right man too Redside, not a knee jerk which I fear KM was...
Otherwise we will end up chopping and changing getting nowhere.

We cant afford this course of action financially.

It seems there are not too many accountants in Bristol are there
