Roy's second half tactics were like a 5 year old kid on prozac - just sticking every striker and putting cahill up front and getting us to pump balls aimlessly in their general direction

Kane hasn't even score all tournament. He couldn't even control a ball with no player arpund him. It was embarrassing
I agree with Dixon, no clear style of play that the players could get used to. Too much chopping and changing around.
Losing Welbeck and Wilshere to injury was a blow but he should have stuck to the formula used in qualifying.
The Vardy and Kane Hype machine blurred the lines and obviously Woy chose to stick with Rooney.
I'm happy that the FA have no choice but to sack Hodgson but I cant think of anyone decent that would actually want the job

roy getting stick for not knowing his best team, but to be fair to him a lot of the players who almost had to be picked - kane, alli, vardy, sturridge - only made a name for themselves this season (and sturridge's fitness was in doubt until april/may).
throw in rooney being england's record goalscorer, and top goalscorer in the qualifiers, but then being moved into midfield by his club, and it made for a load of tough decisions for the manager (many of which he got wrong, admittedly).
Rooney is getting the Gerrard treatment from the fans. Was England's best player overall at the tournament but blamed for the exit. Despite playing out of position and not being outstanding. Now he gets the blame.
The worst player for England was Kane. However I'd blame Hodgson for only in one game starting players who actually fit in with each other in a team. At least you won that one.

I also agree with Dixon that they should be able to handle the pressure at this level. Not good enough.

The starting line up the same as against Russia but Sterling instead of Lallana. May as well have just given Iceland a 2 goal headstart.

Because some players have big champions in the press who will back them out of club loyalty. So if it doesn't work out, any England manager knows he would get hammered. Kane was horrible from game 1, as was Hart after he let in Bale's goal. Those two should not have started again. But they did. Rooney in midfield was a disaster waiting to happen. Apparently he told Roy he would only play in midfield. Weak manager.
Alli missing a free header in the last second as well, Jesus Christ
Have to admit the pressure built up on the players and instead of playing the game they started worrying about the backlash.
