Stadium is nearly full, and there are more people trying to get in than the capacity of the stadium. Yet it is the organisation and not the ticketless trying to force their way in that is the issue?

Apparently so.

Is it not quite simple? Fans without tickets have got into the stadium so they cannot afford to let the ticketed fans in, as they’d be over capacity and at risk and then responsible should something terrible happen inside the stadium due to over capacity? It seems the only people to blame are those fans who’ve broken in without tickets

Cheers, hadn’t seen that - fair comment then.

But we’re at a point where kick off is nearly half hour delayed and gates are closed… a lot of these will be ticket holders panicking.

I think the key question is what had caused these delays in the first place, and none of us know.

Ticketless fans stopping ticketed fans getting in again like Athens

To be fair, if fans have been outside for 2 hours and gates look like they are closed then you will get this sort of unrest. There's a reason that authorities have safety measures in place etc. If things are run properly you avoid this sort of issue. Sounds like they've lost complete control and sense of reason if they are pepper spraying fans
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe the gates are closed because loads of ticketless fans are trying to get in and they can’t deal with it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They should be able to deal with it. Of course ticketless fans are going to try to get in. Would be the case for any well supported club.

There have been numerous journalists who have said this is the worst organisation they've ever seen at a sports event

The narrative that Uefa are pushing about the late arrival of fans is misleading. Fans were here in plenty of time. It is the organisation outside the stadium that's the problem. Reports of tear gas used outside now. A disgrace that fans - any fans - should be treated like this
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A large number haven't got tickets, so the time of their arrival is pretty irrelevant.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Havent got tickets???????

Never.

Mad news coming out of Paris. The Hillsborough narratives are coming out that 'ticketless Liverpool fans' are to blame. Even though UK journalists who are there are unanimous that it has been a disorganised mess outside for hours before kickoff.

Update Paris: Massive chaos in front of the stadium. The brother of Joel Matip, Marvin, had to flee with his family while they tried to get access in the stadium. His wife is pregnant. Tear gas! They had to take refuge in a restaurant. @SkySportDE
