We're long overdue a big home tie at the 'new' stadium. We've only really had Liverpool. We had Everton once in the league cup but they weren't quite the level of their current crop.

Plenty of chances to watch Town in some top grounds over the last couple of decades; Wembley old & new, Millennium Stadium, Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge (x3), Goodison Park (x3), Highbury, Emirates, St James Park (and the one in Newcastle )....but we never seem to get plum home ties

Personally I want a minnow at home. What number ball are Peterborough?

I want Man Utd or Man City at home. Yes we would lose but it would be a cracking game and make a few quid too

Your obsession with atmosphere continues darn! I would like a home game against Aston Villa. Never seen Town play them.

Happy Birthday Wethers.

My days as a prolific striker are over...I did notch 6 in one game, all of them beauties but I would still have buried those gobbers Vaughan missed...had I the lungs to get there in the first place

Many happy returns Wethers mate

While both of you are 'on'....

The Cricket.
thoughts ?
The Ozzie media are a bit disappointed with the 270 for 5 tonight...poor they reckon 'on a good batting wicket'

If they knock close to 350 before all out I reckon we'll struggle to match that
Serious 'sledging' to begin soon......or blokes will have to toughen up for this one .

England dropped 3 crucial catches, that could cost us...The danger is the Ozzies rattling up another 130 runs for the last 5 wickets. ..something they could quite easily do...

We need to skittle out the last 5 pretty quick...ideally for less 50

posted on 5/12/13

Yeah, they've got away with it Aus. Shouldn't be dropping dollies like that when chasing the series. I expect a draw at best now

posted on 5/12/13

They always do it don't they Jacko.
determined 'dogged' tail enders digging in.

I don't like to criticize dropped catches, 'cause every team suffer it. but 3 is a lot. And like you say, could be crucial.

Not 'too' hot over there tomorrow !
22c is forecast, We need to bowl at the wickets & get 'em out quick.....

Then leave all the 'bodyline' stuff alone when it's our turn to bat.
I can't believe our so called top batsmen went 'fishing' after all that tripe the 'lags' were throwing darn the wicket in the 1st test.

Got to think better than that.

Problem is Darn, we've a few struggling for form right now and I think it naturally affects the way they're approaching their shots. Prior is a very lucky man to still have the gloves. I'd be surprised if he makes 100 total runs this series.

The Aussies got a sniff during the summer and with victory in Brisbane their tails are seriously wagging right now, especially with another blooming winning toss ....and I'm not overly confident we've got what it takes to bring them down right now....

posted on 5/12/13

Need quick wickets, get them out for maximum 350, then England need to bat well!

posted on 5/12/13

At least we are all on the same page there then...
Shame we don't hit the mark like this when it comes to 'Town'

I've said before.
We only have 3 tests to 'do 'em' ..because the W.A.C.A. ground is a nailed on victory for them

We need to get Anderson going a bit more...he's not been as incisive as the previous series...
