Sin Bin: NO
Not Sending off Keepers: Unless it's cynical, YES
Domestic Cup = Champions League: NO
It IS on my 'own' board but I have thoughtfully extended the opportunity for Forest fans to engage in debate on the subject as it is broadly applicable to football in general, not just its finest exponents.
Post only on your own board.
I'm presenting the opportunity for you to engage; you may take it or leave it, as is your right, but it is a public forum, for the public to be forumming on.

Not according to Rev, it's not.
Rev is as welcome now on my threads as he has ever been
It just seems strange that you post things to our board when they are nothing to do with us. Some might say you're obessesed with us. Or that you need us for a decent discussion.
Should I post links to your articles on the Oldham or Stoke pages? Or the one you posted between our two boards, exactly as this one is, wherein you were extolling the virtues of such a rivalry..?
Only when it suits though, apparently.
Only when it's relevant mate. When the article is about both clubs. And it's quite amusing that you just scrolled through my articles to find those three. The reason it annoys me when you do it is because you're basically camped on our board and it ruins the chance to actually discuss anything Forest fans might actually want to discuss.
binning players is a good idea, I play rugby most weekends and it's a decent disincentive to cheating.
not sending off keepers is fair enough (as previously stated, unless cynical)
I think cup competitions should qualify for champions league. It's a league for those who have won things, not teams who finish 4th.
The 4 English places should go to league winners, fa cup winners, league cup winners, and because I like to be deliberately controversial, johnstones paint trophy winners.
give it a year or two, and watch the resurgence of domestic cup competitions.
I'm shocked and hurt that you'd suggest such a thing, SHH
I cannot see how this article's presence should prevent your starting an article discussing any of the myriad things that are presently going a bit Pete Tong for Forest, and indeed I'd encourage any such discussions; they can be quite cathartic, I understand.
See, we get slated when we start our own threads about Forest, slated when we try to join in yours; how and when are we supposed to discuss you, or are we not allowed to because we don't go to your ground more than once a year? How does Tonto fit in to your appraisal system; may he start articles or offer comment?
PUBLIC forum.
You might want to consider Vital or LTLF or something
...but we've seen just how incompetent refs can be at even the top level; cards can be overturned on video evidence, being wrongly taken from the game for 15 minutes cannot be. It's different in rugby where you're expected to punch, bite and gouge with impunity, but in football these things are really only ever done by Luis Suarez.
I don't like it, not without also using video technology 'in play'.
rugby refs make calls without using video, sometimes they get it right, sometimes they get it wrong. the lack of play acting tends to help though, if you behaved the way footballers did on a rugby pitch you'd be laughed off before you could finish your "sniper from the stands pirouhette into quadruple roll finishing with a pike" attempt at winning a penalty......
for me, referees getting it wrong is always going to be a facet of the game. I have no problem with minimising the likelihood of this occurring, but I like to think I am big enough to accept these things happen. there's nothing to stop him consulting the fourth official prior to putting someone in the bin in some instances where he's not sure either way and seeks clarification.
the level I play at, the referees are average and the only video evidence we have is shenanigans in the club house afterwards, and for the most part it goes pretty smoothly. one of the advantages of the bin system is, is because it is transient penalisation of the whole offending team by being a man down for 10 minutes, it brings in nicely the other rugby concept of a "team binning" - the referee can warn the whole team about constant infractions, if somebody commits the offence again then in the bin they go. as there's no lasting implications such as the accumulation of cards and subsequent suspensions, it can be quite an effective tool against persistent small fouls etc that wouldn't really warrant a yellow in their own right.
Happy for you to discuss us 666, but it does get quite annoying when you all get so excited about being a couple of points above us and suddenly we're infested with articles and repetitive comments on every thread we create or contribute too. The last two articles on our board are an article about Platini and the world's most pointless article about who comments more than who. Jesus.
I hear what you say, Fridge, and I appreciate your opinion, but I do think that there are already enough rules if applied properly and judiciously to control the game.
We never see shirt-pulling at corners getting punished. We rarely see cards for dives and there is sufficient discretion in the 'last man' rule to let keepers away with a foul if it was a coming together rather than a cynical hacking down.
Get the rules we already have properly enforced and then have another look at it, I say!
ah well, you're moving the proverbial goalposts there; that's another question entirely, but one which I entirely agree with you on.
can I add to that cards for dissenting players each time they surround and harangue the referee? it wouldn't take too many sending offs before teams stopped doing it. the governing bodies wouldn't have the stones to see it through though!
They brought that in, didn't they, a few years ago; not sure what happened to implementing it but it seems to have gone by-the-by
Why is this on the Derby board?
Why is this on the Forest board?
Assume that it's 10 minutes in the sin bin for a bookable offence. What do you do for those committed just before the end of the game? Carry some of the sin bin time over to the next game?
As for goalies not being sent off - when it's a near-certain goal (striker goes around keeper, just going to tap it in) then it would be well worth the keeper grabbing the player's ankles to concede the penalty.
sending offs?????
It's sendings off. Compound plural like gins and tonic.
I've told you all about this before.
Let's maintain standards please
Anything that contributes to ending the obsessive haranguing of the refs by players just because the decision made went against them can only be a good thing.
Of course there would be some technicalities to work out but I assume things like Eddie's point must have been addressed by the egg chasers?
As Einstein said, if at first the idea is not absurd then it has no chance.
Why is this tripe on the Forest board?
They just cannot keep away from us..it must be love.
I feel flattered to be receiving all their undivided attention.Awwwwww..bless em'
