A turtle.moves quicker than him. So faking slow its embarrassing some time. But because he holds up the ball well we cant criticise him.

How many?

Good player. But he's just exceptionally slow. I mean how can someone be that slow?
It is amazing really.

That could've been excused if he had top technique and ball control but even that lets him that down.
He struggles holding the ball up most of the time and his heading accuracy is below par.
Don't let me get started on his finishing.

I think part of the reason for his pace is because he's knackered from all the ground he covers during a match - he's constantly battling and closing down so when he gets an opportunity to use his pace he's already puffing hard

posted on 11/12/13

He has no pace. No matter how tired one is, if he's remotely quick he'll still have that burst there.
It does have an impact though. He goes from turtle to Mertesacker.

One flick to Wilshere and he's a good player. Afaic he can flick off.

Tired from chasing the ball. Aww poor little striker.

GT Defending his love child Giroud again. Give it up mate and just admit he is cack.

Thank god Ozil scored that tap in against Everton elseni would have gone off on one.

Just make an article.and say "Sorry guys but you were right Giroud is poor, slow and cack" and all will be forgiven.

posted on 11/12/13

Face it. He is a slight upgrade from Chamakh. We should move for Benteke who will hit the ground running and isn't cup tied. Far superior to the plank we have now.

Show me please where I directly defending him on this thread. Well I could say the same of you that came up with the same old trash again. Get at least your facts right.

At least Chamakh used to get players sent off and earn us penalty. Giroud cant even do that.

No he isnt. My love child is Cesc Fabregas to be honest, Sherlock Holmes.

Put himself about but generally not showed any ability to decide tight games whatsoever.
Wenger's got him performing way above his actual abilities.

I used to defend Giroud but I gave up on him. The guy is hopeless, quite easily Arsenal's weakest point.

posted on 11/12/13

I commend him for effort and desire but he has not looked remotely close to scoring of late which is his primary job

Can only play with what you have in the squad.
Meaning we could be ahead by a bigger margin w/ someone better

Giroud is a good technician but he simply isn't dynamic enough to lead the attack for a top team - that is, if that team has designs on winning the PL title.

Giroud spends all his time in the #10 position. Just look at the difference between the static Frenchman and a real scorer, Gonzalo Higuain. Higuain was constantly looking to run in behind the defence, always posing a threat. His goal was the result of a quickly taken strike - if Giroud had that opportunity, he would have dallied and eventually laid it off to a midfield runner.

posted on 12/12/13

But that's the point. 'If Giroud had that opportunity'

He doesn't get much service as people think he does.

We do need a forward who can make something out of nothing like an RVP or Suarez though.

As a none-arsenal supporter I have to say the OP is being a little too harsh on Giroud. His hold up play, keeping the ball and bringing others in has been the best I've seen in the prem. Without his goals you'd be much lower. Unfortunately for us (opposition) I think he'll get even better with time.
