If I were Levy I'd ignore the media agenda and go all out for Benitez. He'd be outstanding for you lot. Still one of the best managers in world football.

Hiddink would be my number 1 choice if i could cherry pick.

More realistically, Laudrup i would be content with. Pochetino also, if he could prize away Lovren and Shaw with him.

My wildcard choice would be Slaven Bilic - completely unproven at club level but i like him and his philosophy on football. Croatia were like a world super-power under most of his 6 years tenure as boss, so there is definitely potential there

I want a club statement about the future today. Even if it's - we have a shortlist of people and hope to have someone appointed before x game.

Yeah... It'd be nice if Levy and Co. didn't leave us hanging for too long.

I'd like Martinez but it won't happen.

There are no managers out there that I want. Even old has beens or no better than AVB. Spurs have fecked up big-time sacking AVB on the strength of a few poor results.

I guess everything is going right for Martinez right now, so why would he leave?

Flip-side is that a good number of his squad are on loan and Everton still don’t have any cash, so perhaps he would leave for a job in London with an excellent squad and lots of cash? Also the new coach is kind of in a ‘Harry’ position, by which I mean expectations for the season are so low, and the squad so expensive/excellent (though I understand the one and other aren’t necessarily linked), even mediocre performances will be perceived as success.
