Why keep someone who ain't up to the job? This is the worst football I've ever seen!!

I agree.
The problem is we are getting worse every week. It's was a steady but is now a precipitous decline. Last time we were this bad we went and won at Leicester.
Here's hoping they can change our luck again.

To be clear I was agreeing with Chorley.

Chorley, with respects,

MickyDee is the one bringing in new players, and they ain't turning out to well; with the exception of Smith and his goals.

MickyDee manages the players, he picks the team, the formation and puts the players in their positions.

He's lost the plot, or never had it but got lucky.

he has been in the job for less than a year, wtf do people expect...it doesn't help to chop & change managers every fookin year does it ?

The thing is McDermot had the chance to rest players and see others play in the FA cup but chose not too. Its hard to break a negative cycle but sticking with the same players like austin who has been playing very very poorly indeed is inexcussable. I think McDermot will change things but how amny more inept performances is he going to need.

Austin has way too many off days, that's true. Needs to be rested

I agree bm needs time, but Celtic raises good point, bm starting to make some questionable decisions, not a good sign.

Anyone can be on the end of a cup upset. Lucky goals, new players and a sending off are today's excuses. Smith should have started. We were awful. No excuse for lack of effort.

Leicester City will be rubbing their hands with glee.

Watched the game today, as a Reading fan.

You were poor throughout the game. But, it is a case of, was it the formation? The thought of a derby? Form? It won't just be down to McDermott. Must admit, during his time at Reading, he didn't really go on a bad spell like this at all apart from the PL of course. Unless that's effecting him still (which I'd highly doubt with him back in his comfort zone) then I think the responsibility is currently down to the players. But if this bad run continues (which I hope ) then the responsibility for the poor form has to shift towards the manager.

This will test the limits of McDermott's ability as I said, the only ever time he went on a poor run, that was at Reading in the PL, which also lead to us being relegated as a result. So whether them bad thoughts still swing through his mind, who knows. Obviously not of the thought of relegation with you're squad + position and points difference but maybe an underachieving season?

Lrf, bm not been backed financially by board, but now making desperate selections I'm afraid.

He's bought in seven players Jonty. He's chosen where he wants to strengthen.

This is the same man lauded for stopping the rot last season. The squad is largely the same plus additions.

He hasn't moved it on. Team has been poor most of the season. Each game recently has seen us play worse than the last.

Strikes me confidence is low and perhaps the players themselves are unsure as to how they are supposed to play.

I'm not confident BM can be trusted to spend wisely IF there are any further funds being made available.

Stevie he wanted 7 in summer was allowed 3. Then got some cheap dribs and drabs through season.

Love him or hate him, but you can't claim he's been proper backed.

I've said before we have problems on and off the field. Losing a player often galvanises a team. We just gave up, not that we'd been trying that much beforehand.

His tactics today weren't even amateurish. You play to your strengths, he didn't. Obvious to everyone bar BM. He's a lost soul.

That doesn't mean anything. Not being backed means he is in a safe position. It's only when it starts to creep into the media more and more does the board give a little more attention to the situation.

But that may be true about desperate selections. Does he know his best 11 players? If he doesn't your in trouble, if he does, play that way. It's simple. I'm sure the 18 year old today can't have been in his best 11?

Lrf, the 18 year old is!

Playing a cb at right back is wrong. Playing a cb at left back us wrong. Playing ross up front on his own is wrong.

But we should continue with BM?
