I should say, "no team is invincible" and that's right. Except today. Remember when we couldn't score a single goal in the second half, any second half? Not now. Daniel is as hungry as hell for more goals. Luis? Well, Luis is Luis, enough said. Football. Park. Luis. goal. Need I say more?

Did you lot think that you played well today?
Alas....if you score 5 goals away from home where city...everton etc didnt win, I think we can say we played well.
Got-better... I think we are in with a good shot of Top 4 / CL. I did hear on the radio that Suarez was interviewed and stressed the importance of getting Top 4. As for the title I think we should aim to build on CL qualification this year, with the ability it will bring to attract the right players and use that as a springboard for the title in 2015/16.
If u aim for the title and fall short, you will probably get cl. If u aim for cl and fall short.......
we ARE in the title race. we are 5 points (max 6) after everyone has played 21 gams. all the teams are capable of taking points of each other.
of our remaining games against the other title contenders, and those aiming for the top 4, the majority of them are at anfield, we have the home advantage, clawing back a 6 point deficit is in no way inconceivable.
can we win the league this season, HELL YES. will we? probably not, man city, Chelsea and arsenal, have arguably stronger first teams than us, man city and chelsea definitely have a stronger squad, arsenal possibly, but I think they're a bit light on numbers.
the others fighting for top 4 have comparable squads to us.
how any of the current top 7/8 teams ultimately do will depend mostly on what business they do in the current transfer window and how quickly and successfully they integrate the change in personnel into the team.
we've shown we can keep up with the top of the league, 1 good transfer window can help drive us forward, 1 bad window can see the wheels fall off.

I doubt City will do any business in the January transfer window. How much do you think this will have a bearing on the remainder of the season for them?
with the quality of the squad they've got, there's currently no reason why the remainder of the season should be any different for them.
it's up to the other title/top 4 contenders to improve themselves enough to be able to take points off them at the Etihad especially. it's their away form which is currently giving the others a chance, it's ominous that they've improved that recently, hopefully they don't sustain that.

we were bad today in both attack and defence

19th title,
so just to clarify, it's not so much what City will do in the Jan transfer window that will determine how well they do, but what the other teams do in the Jan window, and how well their acquisitions do for the remainder of the season?
Personally, I don't think you're thinking your comment through. The Jan transfer window is notorious for being a disruptive, as opposed to productive, window. At least in terms of the season it relates to (in the long run Jan signings can certainly be beneficial).
It's usually the case that the table, come January, has pretty much evened itself out. Those at the top will usually stay around the top, same for middle, same for bottom. Given one or two placings, it's unlikely that we'll see, for example, a team in 10th position produce a run of form that will see them attain top 4, or even top 6.
I wouldn't be surprised though to see a couple of teams take points away from the Etihad in the remaining games. But then January signings won't be the reason for that. When City won the title, Sunderland were the only team to get anything from Eastlands. A highly unlikely result on paper, and not one that was gained because of January acquisitions - it was just one of those games (which invariably happen in football).
You also say that City's away form is "currently" giving others a chance. Well, currently, it simply isn't. City have taken 13 points from their last 15 away from home in the league. What is giving others a chance isn't down to anything City are doing, but the good form that the others are themselves maintaining.
Don't you see people, the pressure is off of us? All of the teams above us are EXPECTED to win each and every game, We're not. That will do for me. 5 goals against a team that had let in only 7 goals in the season thus far, that'll do for me.

I thought Liverpool were poor, and that's not me being bitter. When we beat Fulham 4-1,I thought it was one of the worst performances of the season for us. The score can sometimes paper over the cracks.
