Just read this and was gonna post a thread about it.

Maybe it's a storyline but if this is true heading into Mania then WWE are in big trouble

This is not best for business

Apparently, WWE have signed a deal for Sting - hearing rumours anyway

may be a work from wwe

I think this is a story line looks like he picked up an injury in the rumble match he was lying around a lot.

Nope not a work, he has been frustrated for over a year and is not expected to come back. Got on a flight back to Chicago

he'll be back for mania and suddenly colt cabana will be signed by wwe

Why is Punk getting stick for sulking off, when the alternative is people like Batista and Orton, who have about as much entertainment value between them as watching a close up of Michael Owen's face on pause for an hour?

I think Orton is potentially the most dull champion of all time along with the Miz

I think Orton's been doing a good job as a heel

I would've disagreed with you until Sunday night. Back in 07-09, that felt like a depressed, angry guy (for real) using his job as therapy. Most realistic performance of a monster heel I can remember. So far this Orton feels like an actor playing a role, not horribly but not well enough to forget about the actor on the surface.

Sunday night he was awesome though. Took back that match from the worthless nobodies in the crowd - a true superstar heel

@WWE has just unfollowed @CMPunk on twitter.

But our source inside the E says that this Punk situation is a work - an excellent work. Purely to generate an added buzz on the Road to WrestleMania and further his storyline with The Authority. Punk 'taking his ball & going home' will be used in the Punk-Triple H program for WM XXX.

Your source? I can't see it being a work

We have a man on the inside.

Why couldn't it be a work? The better question is, how could it not be a work? We all know that this is the 'Reality Era'.

Punk wouldn't walk, not now. WWE could sue him for breach of contract. Plus, he was (is) scheduled to go over Triple H at WrestleMania to end a big storyline. The John Cena character generates $100m per year for the E, yet he's only booked to go over Bray Wyatt - should Cena walk?

this is great if true!!! Cm punk is trash

Timing suggests it's a work, but it's a no lose situation the way I see it.

If it is a work it probably means the angle will take the unexpected twist of The Authority chasing him, something which will do Punk's credibility the world of good (they've made him look rather foolish so far).

If it isn't a work, then quite frankly Punk is a bit of a brat and will have unfortunately justified WWE's territorial mind set. It'll be the second time he's threatened to walk because he felt he wasn't getting enough attention. WWE have enough capital to not have to pander to guys with those kind of entitlement complexes.

Terrible timing for the WWE if true.

After all the problems their booking of the Rumble has caused and with the WWE Network launch due, this added headache isnt something they would want.

Lets say its a work, if so, I applaude the way it was done. When would Punk return? Chicago RAW in March?

I think its a work like I said he looked hurt in the rumble match so I think they sent him home to rest his injury before mania.

It needs fresh blood imo, its always about Punk,Cena and Orton these days.

it will be a work, he wont miss mania

I'm sure Austin did the same thing in the attitude era where he just did one. I have this Sikly feeling that the E are making Punk out to be a Stone cold mk 2 here.

posted on 30/1/14

austin actually did walk out sulking then he said so on his podcast

Even if not a work, punk will be doing it to work the wwe officials into what he wants

Punk has no place in WWE imho.. shouldn't be main eventing because he failed at it, is undersized, hasn't put on any good matches except for one against Y2J and to a lesser extent Cena, is outshined by the likes of db, wyatts, shield.. if he cut and run it won't be a loss for WWE. If it's a work then I guess it's a good work, because that's about the only viable thing for him at this point
