Leo Sayer
The rest are pash
Damn,
I forgot Leo Slayer,
they are cool.
Hendrix, the greatest Axe man of them all, inspired so many, including the man who inspired me to take up the guitar, John Frusciante
Mother love bone
Temple of the dog
yeah,
Pistols where cool, Nirvana I never really got, but they were important,
the who is just wrong imo.
The thing is, the likes of Hendrix were all inspired by the likes of Muddy Waters. Different genres I guess, but still hugely important in the development of Rock.
Ivan,
true, blues players were/are hugely influential in rock
Clapton and Hendrix knew this.
its where it all started.
Billy,
blag flag where important too, Henry Rollins is the man when it comes to this style, REM and Nirvana followed.
Ivan
Was just going to say muddy waters or Robert Johnson
Just two blues musicians who have had a big influence over early rock music.
Buddy holly should probably get a mention too for his contribution to rock n roll
ad, I went through a pretty heavy blues phase about 10 years or so ago. Absolutely love the old stuff, particularly the likes of Waters, John Lee Hooker and B.B.King.
Of course it sounds better on vinyl but my vinyl collection was seriously depleted and never replenished after a break up around that time!

Any reference implied to UKIP is a coincidence and the broadcaster does not take any responsibility to that which may be implied 😃

we are talking about rock bands here.
Is buddy guy good ad? Don't think I've heard him
I'm embarrassingly lacking in my knowledge of the blues other than a couple of bigger names.
Yes you are Ad several hundred miles South x
