Being that the current top 4 in the PL are as strong a top 4 as we've ever seen in this league

You honestly think that? Reckon its not one of the weakest but ludicrous to call it one of the strongest.

When has it ever been this strong?

We have Liverpool and City sides going to Spurs (no mugs) and scoring 5. We have Liverpool putting 5 past an Arsenal side who won in Dortmund. We have a Chelsea side who did the double over City.

And all this without the sleeping giant that is United being part of the mix.

For a club of your size and financial standing anything below the top four should be considered as abject failure.

Absolutely this season it is a failure. But i'm talking about future seasons if the competitiveness remains the same.

Can say, Arsenal finishing outside the top 4 next season (hypothetically) be seen as a failure if United improve and City, Chelsea and Liverpool play as well next season?

Fans have had their perception of success and failure warped by the CL places on offer.

4 is the magic number but what if there are 5 very good teams in the PL? Does that make the 5th placed team a failure? Or just a team who weren't quite as good as the other 4?

This really isn't about United as I don't even think we're the 5th best team this season. But in the future do fans need to forgive a non top 4 finish (if the club pushes all the way) rather than slate the club?

My bets.

Chelsea
City
Liverpool
Watford
United or draw.

Leave that last one out if you don't wanna take the risk

If Arsenal were to finish outside of the top four, then maybe we might spend some real money.

Watford against a Macheda inspired Birmingham, tricky one that.

Getting top four in this league is not a huge achievement.

Not for United it isn't anyway. It's a minimum expectation.

That kind of expectation in todays league is where so many United fans are deluded.

We don't have anymore right to finish in the top four than any of the current ones in there.

It's not deluded. You are only saying this now because Moyes has done such a bad job.

The Liverpool now are not as strong as the one with a younger Gerrard, Torres, Alonso, Mascherano, Reina, Agger etc.

Chelsea and United also had much better teams than they do now.

Rob talking crap again to try and deflect away from how poor we've been doing.

Robb - I shop at Mata-lan

Before we mocked Arsenal for finishing 4th and celebrating like it was a trophy but right now coming 4th in this league is a huge achievement!

Why did you do it?
