I'm not knocking his stats but him being a deep lying player means little when I think all but 2 of his goals were penalties (1 was a free-kick) and the majority of his assists were from free-kick or corners which has so effect where he plays on the pitch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where's all these other players that take penalties, free kicks and corners then? Where are their stats and how do they compare?
Not only has he been excellent stats wise, his performances have been outstanding and his passing ability a joy to behold. Game after game he turns defence into attack. There was one pass a few games back that not many players in world football could have pulled off, pinpoint pass between two defenders with the outside of his foot, swerving into the patch of our attacker.(think it was Sturridge)
Mertesacker's a good player but any player who is part of a defence that concedes 6,5,5 and 4 goals against their biggest rivals this season does not deserve a nomination.

Azpilicueta only really started doing anything around November, agree it's pretty shoddy the likes of JT/Mertesacker/Cahill haven't got a mention though
moving on to what is rather than what should be, POTY can only be Suarez, no-one else even comes close
Young player though? heart says Hazard, head says Sturridge, especially with the World Cup around the corner
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would have had Terry in there ahead of Lallana.

Where have I knocked his performances?
I just stated your point of him scoring and assisting so many when he is a deep lying CM as misleading considering the majority of those would have been set pieces. I'm not for 1 second knocking him which you would see if you bothered reading what I wrote.

I didn't say you knocked his performances. I simply asked where all these other players are with such stats, who take set pieces, considering they are so easy and don't seem to count, there should be many players with these stats.
This is the same Gerrard who has had a couple of seasons of terrible corners. He improved that part of his game this season but it doesn't seem to count. It's only a corner they say.
Well considering a vast amount of our goals have come from set pieces id say being a quality set piece taker has been instrumental to our season and certainly not worthy of 'oh but they're only set pieces'. It's been a lethal weapon.

Where the f-ck have I said these goals and assists don't count? Read what I actually write before you make yourself look stupid. A goal is a goals and an assist is an assist however they come
"We are talking about a deep laying player with double figures in both goals and assists."
But his position on the field is irrelevant if the majority of these goals and assists are set pieces, do you understand? You could have a team whose full back took their clubs penalties and set pieces, the fact he's a full bakc and plays in defence has no relevance to how his got his assists and goals, is that clear?
Calm down. You seem to be twisting your own knickers. I've explained the set piece thing, if you don't agree move on and stop whining about it.
How in the world is saying a deep laying player is more unlikely to score and assist is beyond me. Find me these other deep laying players throughout the world with such stats, even taking set pieces.
If you can't do that, then just pipe down about it.
Calm down all, no fighting
Jesus christ, it's like I'm talking to a retaarded person.
Your position on a field has no relevance if you are your club's set piece specialist, DO YOU UNDERSTAND???
Please explain this set piece thing because you have failed to do so so far. Rogerio Ceni is a keeper and also freekick specialist with over 100 career goals. The fact he is a keeper is completely irrelevant because he is the clubs free kick specialist so will rack up goals irrelevant of his position on the pitch.
Gerrard takes the majority of Liverpool's in-direct free-kicks and corners, that is why he has such goals and assist stats, it's also because he is very good as them. Being a deep lying CM has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with this.
No defenders....hardly a surprise...as Dave Azpi would be in for a shout
YaYa all day for me though...just immense

All good players but match winners will always get more votes. Yaya's been great but he has also gone missing in the big games IMO, Suarez all day for me.
Yeah of course...
Suarez aint done a whole lot in very recent games tho...then he hasn't needed to
Alternative list:
Silva, Coutinho, Cahill, Ivanovic, Skrtel, Schneiderlein
