don't watch Italian football so don't know anything about them

but be sure people will get excited based on youtube clips, their rating on football manager/FIFA 14

but based on what I have read then Davide Astori stands out for me

a striker who has scored 12 goals in 90 something games?

i'd have my concerns

I think its more that hes an international at 23, already lots of experience in a half decent league and has potential.

Put it this way he would concern defenders much more than Noel Hunt.

Astori
Ibarbo
Adryan

Would rip this league to shreds with them in the team.

Can't us signing any of them though.

Understand your point side its fair enough.

All im saying is that for a guy to do this against Juventus he must have talent in there somewhere.

He's not playing in the norwegian league or against bad defenders, its Chiellini & co getting ravaged here.

Do ya think BM might have them on his list then?

posted on 23/4/14

Well I would imagine any manager in the championship if offered the 3 of them would take them.

Most bottom half prem teams might too.

If Cellino is trying to sell Calgarli then it would be quite odd to rip out 3 key players and send them here, the club would become a much less attractive proposition.

Unless he totally doesnt care about them anymore strips the player assests and sells them for very cheap.

Leedsluvr .........................

Whatever his faults I get the impression that Cellino knows his football, and footballers. Whilst I'd rather see the manager running the footballing side of life, and ownership kept well away from it - I can't help but think that Cellino will have his own thoughts on any list of targets BM puts in front of him.

Suspect we'll be linked with loads of players in the coming weeks, i'm not getting too carried away with any speculation at the moment. (totally understand and appreciate why some are mind - hopefully some exciting times ahead, at last).

If BMD is going to stay I think he will have to accept that he will have and list of targets and so will Cellino.

Might be a case of Brian - ''I think we need a number 10''

Cellino - I agree, me and my scouting networks have seen this guy or we have this guy, lets get him over.

Can't see Cellino giving BMD a pot of money no matter what size and letting him go nuts with it.

LeedsRich, I think you are being naive.
Imagine that you owned 2 football clubs.
One you want to sell and the other that could be a gold mine.
Don't you think it makes sense to bring quality players into the potential gold mine?

posted on 23/4/14

Of course Revie would be a muppet to totally discredit that idea.

But would stripping out your best Centre back, Striker and few other players make it easier to sell that club?

Or do you think Cellino simply won't care and will do it anyway and just say to buyers ive knocked their market value off the clubs valuation?

Will be so interesting to see what happens, he is obviously in a position right now to pay himself for good quality footballers.

Good to have some tasty rumours though, eh?

Most of this stuff won't happen, but you never know and at least it keeps the spirits up, rather than another transfer window, knowing we will spend pennies and sell our best players if we get the chance

Love closed season. Especially in WC years.

Cant wait to see who we get.

Imagine an Italian international seriously wanting to play in the championship at 27, his peak.

Laughable.

Yeah if Astori came id eat my hat.

Zola turned down a Abramovich contract for Cellino though. Odd things do happen.

250/1 on this one though.

posted on 23/4/14

250/1 on, that's good odds - you must think it's nailed on

LeedsRich, buyers can be very naive look at GFH for example.
I genuinely believe Cellino will have Leeds United as his top priority.
If that means taking players from his other club so be it especially if they come cheap!

posted on 23/4/14

I certainly think we are his top priority and you make a good point about buyers being naive.
Obviously if he goes down that route wages wouldnt be a problem and it just boils down to whether or not any of them fancy 1 or 2 seasons in a second division.

2020 you seem confident he wont come, I'm willing to lose a fiver. Lets go for it 5 quid on Astori to be a Leeds player by the new season kick off 250/1.

You game?
