Jose Master class?

self-explanatory

Why is there a Blackbun fan trying to be funny on here?

Coz they have actually won the premier League so they are one up on Liverpool

Agreed. I fully understand why Mourinho set up the way he did and you have to give credit as it worked. What I don't understand though is that when someone like Mourinho does it he's hailed as a tactical genius but when someone like Allardyce does it, he gets slated.

Can people who just want to be childish go elsewhere so we can have a proper debate.

If Liverpool had sat back and just defended but still lost, to an unlucky goal would people still be saying BR got schooled?

I accept the loss, fair play, I just can't see how a slip can make a mockery of tactics, we tried to change it up, unfortunatly we don't have the players like, Negredo, Hazard, Jovetic etc off the bench to change a game.

You cant beat a team who have set up to defend like we did. Its near enough impossible. If Barcelona couldnt do it to us a few years back and Bayern struggled then Liverpool have no chance..

We had a chance Mr C - it's just not easy

parking the bus doesn't always work - Jose rolled the dice and it worked on the day

What Jose did was some way from a masterclass but it was what he thought was required to win and Rodgers did nothing wrong.

Very difficult TKT.

'the teams we've struggled against are the ones who've sat back, defended deep and looked to hit us on the counter'

Are you suggesting we sat back and defended deep?!! What happens when the ball ended up in the centre circle?! No one would go and get it! !

We have a good record against City and will want to sign off at Goodison with a win. Will be a very tough game and can see Yaya really causing us problems.

Yaya's f£$%ing brilliant

He was my choice for POTY, 20+ goals from midfield. But suarez is also worthy of winning it as he has also been brilliant.

If I recall, Chelsea scored 2 goals

Wow, you are either just being a tool or you really don't understand football.

BREAKING NEWS:

Premier League to consider scraping current points format and instead of giving points for wins and draws will give points to teams who ‘play football the right way’, ‘have more possession than the opposition’, ‘have more shots than the opposition’, ‘spend less money than the opposition’.

-----------------------------

As an Arsenal fan, I agree with the above 2 points. Best football wins.

Yeah, hoping Arsenal slip up tonight giving you a sniff of 4th place to inspire, although you need to keep ahead of spurs too, so hopefully you can do it.

Yaya and Agureo are my two favourite non Liverpool players in the league (and Hazzard, but whisper that quietly). Really like Mirallas for you guys.

If my maths is right we only need three points. can't see a full strength Hull side on the last day(cup final on the minds)....or Spurs/United winning all remaining games either.

Chelsea are experts at soaking up pressure, sometimes it backfires (as can any tactic) but over the duration it works, Chelsea were fine with letting Liverpool have the ball in their half, it is up to Liverpool at home in a big game to do something with it, the plan didn’t work and Chelsea looked comfortable in the situation most of the time and Liverpool lacked a plan B. Brendan Rogers is a good manager but he was out thought there, no doubt about it.

err, no, i was saying that was the approach you should have adopted

organised defenses seem to stifle us with little difficulty, hence our struggles against the likes of Palace, Villa and West Ham

i'm arguing if yesterday you'd adopted the approach these teams did you'd have got something

funny thing is you could have actually afforded to as a draw would still have been good enough, we were the team needed the win yesterday

it was brilliant defending + freak goal. Nothing more, nothing less

still can;t really gue Pool deserved a win though

best you could have got yesterday was a draw then

draw would have reflected the match IMO

Chelsea didn't create anything other than a couple of long range shots, Liverpool didn't reallt create anything other than a couple of long range shots

i thought we carved out the better chances, especially on the break, caught you with a handful of defenders in the box on a number of occaisons, poor decision making from Salah, Ba and Torres cost us

remember Schurrle causing Johnson problems in the second half in particular

It's really irrelevant who deserved to win or otherwise.

They scored twice, we didn't.

I agree it wasn't a 'tactical masterclass', but that's the media's agenda to make out managers are all important when in reality matches are decided by players.

One of ours fell over. Chelsea's defended very well, even the 20 yr old debutant who was my MOM, and our players started getting frustrated and didn't play their normal game, taking too many long range shots in instead of being patient.

Let Chelsea enjoy the result. I have a feeling they will be feeling the opposite emotion on Wednesday.
