yes. however you are incorrect about people jumping on bandwagon, which was your original point which has now been disproved.
the fact that was disproved in a way that was different to what you specifically asked for, is irrelevant
Actually that was the second point... My first was finding me an article about keeping him
Regarding Dempsey I thought he was a keeper.
Likewise Defoe. And why Defoe is not playing for England I will never know!
My first comment
"Bet you can't find 1 article about keeping Dempsey when we sold him now suddenly everyone wanted to keep him.... Classic spurs fans"

Paulinho has got Brazil playing at Tottenham pace.

whereas none of the arsenal players have got a game, save for Jack's invisible cameo against Italy
What is a Paulinho?
I can't figure it out.

Chronic is the best Spurs fan who ever lived as far as I'm concerned.
Everyone else pales in comparison.

"But him and don are very similar"
Hardly.
When Don gets going, the from him can power the planet for a month.

For once i agree with Chronic, i too suggested we might regret selling Dempsey.
I'm not using this to have a dig at AVB but AVB didnt have a clue where to play him. Yes, he is technically a midfielder - but he is not a suited to tackling in the middle of the park - which appeared to be one of his main duties under AVB.
Dempsey has a knack of scoring goals - simple as that.
As for the topic itself, Vertonghen can be a very graceful tackler when his position is good. When it is not he is a liability to giving fouls away - and giving penalties away.
He actually got away with a few last season (swings & roundabouts? possibly) but he is not this silky CB that he gets praised for.
He's silky on the ball, problem is he's sulky and slow.
What has he got to do with Dempsey though?
