I don't think it has anything to do with the Vidal deal as Juve want a left back regardless of whether they sell vidal or not.

But if we're amicable with them and vidal shows a desire to join Utd, it can't hurt can it?

We was nice and let them have Pogba. They should return the favour.

More likely to get Perez who we still seem keen on according to some reports. Played really well last season for Benfica and did alright last night

Evra going to Juventus has little to no bearing on the future of Vidal.

Think that's why they gave him another year, so he wouldn't leave for free. And as people are saying, nothing like amicability when making transfers; perhaps it's all part of the Nani scheme to aquire Vidal.

I thought Evra had wanted the contract extension, but according to that article, United triggered the extension.

The question then becomes, who do we get in to replace Evra?

I was under the impression that Shaw would start most games and Evra would essentially just be cover. So we'd need to find an older left back on the cheap, or go in to next season with everything on Shaw.

Seems strange to me.

This is (apparently) why Moyes wanted to sign Herrera.

This may be abit left-field but what about Evans

posted on 10/7/14

No. Moyes wanted to play Herrera as a LB, with Fellaini and Giggs in CM, with Jagielka the new captain.

So now we only have one left back in the squad? I was/am probably in a minority that thinks we should have kept Buttner IF Evra wanted to leave, just as back up to Shaw.

I don't want us to be in the position we were last season when Rafael was injured, having to fit square pegs in round holes to compensate for the fact we didn't have another full-back.

I'm not sure i can deal with all these legends leaving at once without a proper send off, Giggsy, Rio, Vida now Patrice, it's too much

I'm the same, which is why if Evra leaves we have to get someone else. But if we get someone else young, that's going to really hurt Shaw's progress. If we knew Evra was leaving we should have tried to get Cole.

Would seem strange going into the season with just 1 LB. I don't rate Buttner at all but if the club sensed that Evra wanted to leave then surely we would have kept him just as back up?

Are there any good LBs in our youth team right now?

They want Evra, they want Nani...

If we don't come out of this with Vidal then someone isn't doing their job.

posted on 10/7/14

Haven't we gone into the past few seasons, with only 1 RB? Then, players who can fill in that position if/when Rafael is injured?

These are the views of United fans when we signed Evra on the old 606.Makes for comical reading.

Evra will cost them like 2 million. A huge makeweight for Vidal

posted on 10/7/14

Nothing to worry about, we've got Shaw, he is proven in the PL and has world class potential.

He's also young and will not get injured and is not a risk at LB. He also understands what it is to play for a club like utd and the pressure he will be under.

Nothing to worryy about

Would have liked Evra to stay for another season to mentor Shaw a little bit.

Surely it means we will be after another LB? Personally I'd like Vermaelen in for cover there but can also cover for our crocked CBs.

Still need a top class CB though....Hummels

LVG put bloody Kuyt at Left wing back.... Don't be surprised to see Valencia or Rafael play there, if Shaw gets injured.

Someone doesn't understand negotiations It's called leverage. Ultimately, only £2m is still £2m... and they need and want a LB.
