He was never coming, its all made up along the way. There never was any indication from LVG or Robben that a move was in the making.
I don't know. I think it was far more likely than some of the pie in the pie in the sky talk on here like Di Maria.
I think LVG would want it and do would Robben. What's halted it is Bayern seeing him have a great world cup and not wanting him to let him go.
Not bothered. Too old and way too greedy.
Stretty... you wouldnt take Robben?!?!
Robben is a family man now, his wee lad is settled in school. German education v Ebglish education = no brainer.
Ebglish...
God I hate it when that happens!
Be surprised if any player saw us as a more attractive prospect than bayern atm

I wouldn't say that, we do have some garbage on the wings and he is preferable to young or Valencia. That said all things considered I won't lose any sleep that he won't be joining.
Would have been an ideal short term solution who would have slotted in seamlessly. With the Lvg connection I felt it was way more likely than most of the dream land articles on here.
Those who say it was never likely are wrong. All it needed was Bayern to want to sell, which if reports are correct they were pre world cup, and we would have been top of the list.
Like I say, a great world cup prevented that
Is it not just a case of lazy journalism?? LVG coaches Holland and is going to Utd - let's just link every player in the Dutch squad with Utd.........................
Imagine if Holland had a poor world cup - umpteen articles about whether LVG was the right choice etc.
I don't think Robben having a good world cup prevented Bayern wanting to sell.
Pep loves Robben and he's their best player. A good world cup is likely something they'd have expected, knowing his class, and hardly something that was going to decide his future at the club.
I actually do not care. Robben on average will dive 5 times a game. We did not condone it when young was doing it and therefore should not with Robben, who has got to a stage in his career you can never take this bad habit out of him.
If we sign any dutch players I expect it to be two of Blind, Vlaar and de Vrij
How about Martins Indi. I'm surprised no one has mentioned him. Very tidy defender
Pep doesn't love Robben and the feeling is mutual. Lazy comments to say they love each other when it's well known the relationship is frosty.

No. He has a really annoying face.

Robben best player in the WC for me. Unplayable at times. Vlaar is very very average. yes he had a good WC but ask any Villa fan (and I know a few) and they are gobsmacked at just how well he played.
I would take De Vrij only from that Dutch side as Robben will stay at Bayern
Blind could do a job as well. In the second eleven squad category that is.

He really isn't. He is ponderous on the ball, flat-footed and prone to dirty play. He is a walking red card for me.
Dutch players in the WC are pretty average individually, but worked hard and the collective where far more than the sum of their parts.
v.Persie had a stinker, was he the player caught offside the most? Still the joint holder of the best goal in the tourney (with James Rodriguez) that diving header a work of art.
The Dutch performance in the world cup with the average set of players they had was exceptional. Yet another reason to be excited by the LVG appointment.
What he has achieved would be like taking England to the semis. Imagine England had achieved that. We would have all been over the moon. England arguably have a better squad as well.
