Carragher thrown out like a cheap suit

Carra is a legend, I'm sure once he's got his badges he will be back as a coach. It's a good Idea I think for a player to take a break between retiring and joining the coaching staff, otherwise it can become a bit too chummy. And that doesn't always work out.

But he'll be back, he's the boy who grew up a blue but chose to be a red

Brendan's gutting the club of it's liverpool roots, putting rivalries aside, it's really sad to see

BR has a coaching staff he knows and has faith in, don't see the problem really.

It's a strange thing for Utd fans to give a monkeys about as well. Personally I couldn't care less whether you have someone like Scholes on your coaching staff.

Actually, that's not entirely true - I'd rather he was on TV, that Arsenal annihilation was hilarious.

All the uproar and even the arsenal fans are now questioning jack

Carra's lad is a Liverpool schoolboy player, I'm sure he'll be back

He simply cannot work for both Sky and also be an ambassador, or any similar role for the club. Both institutions have their own objectives, exclusive to the other's. Would United take Neville back on in a similar role?

I hate to back the RS in a discussion. But Fowler, Mcmanaman and Jones are all coaches at Liverpool

Gutting of its roots - how?

By getting us playing a quick passing game again?
Having an attacking philosophy?
Bring through youth players?
Wanting an English core to the team?

Or perhaps more subtle destruction like re-hanging to oldest 'This is Anfield' sign we had or having YNWA played when players are out on the pitch? Maybe even the return to the red nets?

Yeah - can totally see where you're coming from! Yer big freak.

"Gutting of its roots - how?"

Wasn't meant as a shot at yourselves, hardly the fans fault that Brendan is cutting out what's made you who you are.

They were too busy defending the buck toothed one to worry about real legends

Think that's the only thing you can throw against the fans tbh. Suarez became bigger than the club in their eyes

Rodgers wanted Carragher to remain on the playing staff It was Carragher who wanted to retire. That was his perogative.

A role was there for him as a player if he wanted to remain part of the club. Rodgers has his own coaching staff employed at the club, who he has closely worked with and significantly improved the performance levels of the players, particularly the younger players, which resulted in an astonishing season, where Liverpool played some sparkling attacking football and rose from 7th to 2nd in the league.

The OP's team retained and introduced club legends into staff roles at the club and have their most embarrassing season in league history since they were relegated from the top flight.

Looks like Man Utd have gutted their history of having British managers and giving them time, to sacking a British manager in months and appointing a foreign manager.

In fairness you might have a point. I've supported the club for 33 years now and Brendan hasn't offered me a coaching role. And I've won the champions league loads of times on football manager so I've clearly got the ability.

My dad has been supporting for over 50 years and Brendan hasn't offered him anything either. He's never played football manager though so he's probably only eligible for an ambassador role.

PPD, it's become clear this isn't entirely true. Jamie wanted to play football, he was club captain. You're doing the man a disservice by simply writing it off as all his fault. Shame because as much as I found him a bit of a bel lend, he was a good captain for you guys. How soon you forget
