Hi Thorney
Hope you had a good summer. Your pre-season results are cause for optimism, ours less so. Home defeats to Leeds 1-2, Southampton (yes, they do still have some players) 0-1, an away defeat to Eastleigh 0-2 (embarrassing!) and away draws to Petersfield 2-2 and Bromley 1-1. Not very good! However today we've beaten an Aston Villa XI (youngsters) 4-1, at least it's a win.
I see you've been sniffing around Nathan Thompson and made a miserably low offer. Hands off!
Hi Don,
1-1 at Luton on Saturday. League 2 form? Not really.
Your scorelines against Leeds and Southampton weren't bad.
As for Thompson, I think it's too late to bag him. Sadly, low offers are all that we can afford - another reason why we won't bag him.
Another tough season lies ahead for us both. The danger teams for me are Sheffield United, Doncaster, Leyton Orient, and Bristol City. One of the promoted teams such as Chesterfield could also do well.
Not long to wait now Thorney. The smart money is on Leyton Orient finishing top dogs in 2015. If as predicted by those in the know that Britt does go to Forest, without him, I see Posh struggling to keep up with the front runners. I hope I'm wrong.
I agree - Britt's departure will dent our promotion prospects. Ajose has also departed (for Leeds) - not such a great loss.

Has Barry Fry got a more exciting and affordable player in mind to take Britt Assombalonga's place? I doubt it. Yet another sad day and kick-in-the-teeth for true Posh supporters who regularly turn out to support their team home and away, come rain or shine.
Will you have some of the £5.5m to spend?
Half will go to Watford, I believe. Here's hoping Vassell can walk into Assombalonga's shooting boots.
Meantime, we will be scouring the lower leagues for our next hot potato.
Would Posh really be interested in replacing Britt Assombalonga with Nile Ranger? Perhaps Darren Ferguson is just the man to act as a steadying influence where other managers have failed.
Ranger is a class act, particularly at League 1 level. However I'm not sure there's a manager out there who can handle him, the guy's on a different planet. Everyone at Swindon went out of their way to help him but he was intent on self I destruction. Strange because on the pitch his behaviour is totally professional.
Neither Fergie nor our Chairman, Darragh, like players who misbehave on or off the field, so I can't see the purchase of Ranger being a starter.
