The stats just prove what you see on the pitch.
He plays out of position at psg, and has to supply for ibra or more often finds himself on his weaker foot since he plays on the left (when ive seen him, so has to cut in, making it easier to block going towards bodies, or a worse angle from the left.
Despite this (as i said, when ive seen him hes been on the left), he got 24 in 44 (i think) last season, and 6(?) assists, meaning he was involved in 30 goals in 44 games, or 0.68 gpg.
Thats not a bad stat when having to compete with ibra in your team, who got 40 and 17 in 45 last season.
Stats aside, he is a big centre forward that can play as either a target man or in any of the 3 positions up front. His movement is good, notice he doesnt run a lot but moves into correct channels. Thats not a sign of a lazy striker like ive read as a criticism, but a smart player that finds himself space without running himself into the ground. He tracks back when he plays on the wing and has very good technique and close control.
Yes, he is not cheap if the fee is the fee psg bought him for, but his body type is such that he can play into his lower thirties without the risk of losing him too much, since his game is not based on his speed. He is 27 now, so we could get 5 seasons out of him (excluding injury) or 2 good seasons, at which point barca will come sniffing.

I"d almost rather take a punt on a less known striker.
the top end of the market has already moved all the properly class players to the top teams in Spain and Man City.
What's left is overpriced and in all likelihood overrated gambles.
I'd rather keep the money and give Borini a proper chance to shine, if he isn't up to it by Xmas look to cash in and invest in a striker that fits the system .
Think I am the only one in team stonfacd, but would LOVE it if we signed Cavani.
Unlike most here, judging by the comments, I have seen a lot of him when playing for Napoli on Dutch telly, and not just some games.
Forget the period at PSG, as stonfacd already said, he is playing well out of position there on the wing, and still has a good goal to game ratio none the less.
But look at this link below. The number of goals, and the quality of them, are very impressive. Some goals are even Bergkampesque (look at the first goal in PSG shirt, just under two minutes in the video, just amazing)
And....judging by the jersey he has scored most goals in, in the video.......he especially likes playing with that magic no 7.........destiny?
