He was never going to hit the ground running. Frustrated a lot today but no worse than Ramsey, Wilshere and Santi.
Just shows how important it is to by prem players. Look at chambers and debuchy, you would think they had been playing at arsenal for years
He almost took two seasons to get going at Barcelona, really hope he doesn't take that long with us.
Different position but has a very similar attitude on the pitch as Rosicky
Why was he never going to hit the ground running? he was underwhelming today, have to put expectations on him with that price tag
he looked brilliant in the WC playing through the middle
shove him out wide and he's looked rubbish in both the Charity shield and today
you can't put any expectation on him high price or not when you're not playing him in his best position
I was impressed with what I saw..have no worries he will only get better. Prem is perfect League for him. He will only get better with more experience. Its good to have another engine among our ranks..He seem to never tire added his technical skills and pace. We are in for treat. Also beautiful free kick for Kossy goal.
Anyone who has ever followed Alexis knows his execution in the final 3rd can be maddening. He's full of running and endeavour until he has to make that final pass or provide the finish and he often suffers a rush of blood to the head. He did frustrate for quite some time in Barca but finally hit the expected level last year. HOPEFULLY, it wouldn't take him nearly as long here to fully adjust.
I like his work ethic though.
The only positive is that he got 90mins in PL.
Yes he can be bit of a headless chicken when it comes to the final third.
He was very average today. Needs to release the ball a little earlier. I'm sure Wenger will talk to him about that.
Used to same about Walcott
'Who remembers Arshavin, very talented but tracking back and helping out defensively was non existent'
I always noticed when Arshavin tracked back, which he did do, wasn't great at it, because he just didn't have the energy to sprint about for 90 minutes.

Arshavin was always losing possession..and with Denilson as our main DM and Almunia as our Number 1 keeper...All hell broke lose
Arshavin is one of my favourite players. High risk, high reward type of player.
