And please tell me how the fack is it an acceptable for a holding midfielder to give the ball away so much?

Arteta makes a successful tackle every 33.9 minutes, Wanyama every 31.3 minutes. So a massive 2.6 minutes in difference between successful tackles in a team that had far less possession for us means that Wanyama is better defensively, and we can excuse the fact he makes less interceptions, less blocks, more fouls, loses more duels overall, has a poor passing range, successful pass ratio and is constantly dispossessed more than likely in his own half

Arteta is better than him defensively, because Wanyama is a cleaner tackler doesn't make him better defensively. How an earth has Arteta made so many more tackles when we have far better possession stats than Southampton? How come he intercepts the ball far more than Wanyama when he doesn't even have the legs to get around the pitch anymore?

And Kam I never wanted us to sign Tiote

You obviously don't know Southampton lead the possession stats in the league last season. Including bossing us home and away in possession and territory.

Arteta is one of the best interceptors in the league. It's his major defensive strength and I think only Schneiderlin does it better. But he's certainly an inferior tackler to Wanyama. That's clear.

Again, Southampton were a better possession team than us. It's pointlessquoting passing stats cos I admitted Arteta's is better. Passing percentages in the 80's aren't bad, so I wouldn't class Wanyama's as poor. A good passer like Huddlestone has his in the 70's. And Wanyama wins more duels in addition to losing more duels because he contests more duels than Arteta.

Funny thing is a lot of the same stats make Arteta better than Matic. But I'd certainly have Matic over him.

"Another one who can't actually state what the problem in Wanyama's game is."

Even though the "other one" did in fact take you up on your offer and tell you why.

Some things are clear and obvious. And don't really need any explaining.

All these stats.

I remember when Young was second on the assist chart only to Cesc a few years back. All he did was cross the ball and punt it around.
One would think he was creative using those numbers.

Using stats purely as a means of judgment is idiotic.

Arsenal fans are the worst for being snobbish about players from "lesser" teams in England.

Applaud the signing of Sanogo from Ligue 2, yet would probably cry if we signed his equivalent from the Championship .

Plenty. Albeit it was when we probably thought he was one for the future, and wouldn't be starting against Bayern Munich ffs

Still remember 8bit saying he was better than Henry at the same age.

Schneiderlin is better than him, you could see the difference between the two yesterday. Let's be honest, if Spurs signed Wanyama we'd be laughing our rears off
