How to spend £100m?

No idea why the Shaw signing is getting stick, so he isn't the fittest lad and perhaps has to get a few games under his belt before he gets going.

Considering his age and potential the price is fair. Its not as risky as say a south American who would easily be turned should Real or Barca come calling. It is an investment for the future.

Spurs I think out of the three did not really have a plan, It looked like a combination of Levy, Fan pressure and the manager. It looked chaotic in terms of finding the right players to fit the plan. That being said I think in their own right the players are good players.

I think Liverpool regardless of Suarez, had a serious issue in a lack of depth which contained quality. We addressed this early and are now at a point where we feel we can compete on all fronts.

However the loss of Suarez is huge, and our options are either put complete faith in Sturridge or bring in someone better, however there is no one out there so I wouldn't be annoyed if we didn't sign anyone. What it would mean however is that we would really struggle should Sturridge be out for any given length of time.

3 totally different scenarios.

Eveton are leading the way on spending money, they have very little compared to the rest of the top 6 or 7 & over perform every season

i didnt mention specific liverpool fans, but it was the general sense a few months ago that we should sign him, now that hes signed at united, the general sense is that hes a waste.

Also, when one takes offense, or links a generic comment to themselves suggests it applies to them.

Was that aimed at me stonfacd?

I certainly wasnt offended, but you did address your question to liverpool fans, being a liverpool fan I responded.

Dunno where you are getting the idea of offense from, is it because I asked a question about why you think Herrera is better than anything we have?

"However, I am confused as to why rivals Manchester United haven't been criticized as much in their transfer window exploits?"

Really?

It's a running joke / reason for despair for United fans that we have wasted so much money on an absolute donkey in Fellaini.

Moyes bought two number tens when we needed none.

One of them is decent, and one of them isn't.

A lot of United fans have questioned the price paid for Shaw.

So I don't know how you can claim there's been no criticism. There's enough within United fans, let alone externally.

I said United would have to spend £250m on players to get back into the top 4 and was ridiculed - probably, since I don't read threads after I've posted because of insults from when I did used to read threads after I posted. I won't be reading this thread again but they will have to spend millions.

Shaw is a good buy and a very united like fullback. I don't think he'd have been a good option for us cause he's not the type of full back we need on our style of play. But as long as he keeps his head down and works hard at united he should flourish.

Tbh Shaw was one I really wanted last season before we bought him, happy enough with his signing, although quite expensive!

Fellaini was a complete waste, no question there.

Mata is a great player but wasnt really needed.

Herrera seems a good player but wait and see with him I guess....
