The opposite is true. We have so many attacking options there is no point rushing Özil and Podolski back. However, at CB we are down to the bare bones and Per should be with the squad.

well shirley scored and made some good runs. also he is the youngest and arguably fittest of the players mentioned

Schurrle looked fresh as a daisy, besides he was only a squad player for Germany. Not sure if he even started a match.

Didn't Wenger also give them.an extra week off? Fair play to him if they win.

Arsenal would miss Ozil and Per more than Chelsea would Schurrle if they got injured later on in the year as a result of not having a proper break.

Podolski should be in the squad. Can under stand Per and Ozil being rested as per played almost every game last season and most Germany games until the Semi Finals I think. Ozil played every min of Germany games but he also missed a few months with Arsenal so maybe he should be at the very least training a week earlier than he did.

Podolski isn't needed in the squad.

Wenger is thinking long term. Özil and per will be tested to the max this term, so better to give them full rest than bring them back early and risk a muscle injury

I thought that was mertesacker's nickname, based on the fact that when he finally catches up with a football, hehas no idea what to do.
