I'd rather have Sterling running at an exposed fullback than Willian. But Willian offers a lot of cover and presses well, he has fantastic energy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So does Raheem though, hes tactically astute aswell for such a young player, one of the reasons hes highly rated by the people who actually watch him. The same with people saying he is slight, don't think they watch him, cause although small hes stronger then most our team and the oppositions.

I 1 starred this based on the unaddressed lie concerning Brendan Rodgers labelling him 'the new Messi'.

oh ok, he did say that the work in building up to the goal is something that messi would have done or something to that effect.

I can see where the misunderstanding came from to be fair

But Willian is better at it and offers more of it. Just as Sterling offers more end product.

They're close in my eyes. I'm only saying Sterling might not start for us as Willian offers more of the attribute which better balances out Hazard.

When you look at the finish against Manchester City in New York, how many times have we seen Messi produce a touch like that? Taking it through bodies when it’s so tight in the box.”

In terms of balancing the team though I don't think we'd have room for Hazard and Sterling together.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sterling works incredibly hard and has good position discipline for one so young. He's played RWB a couple of times - a nod to his willingness and ability to track back and tackle.

At the moment I really don't see how you could leave him out in favour of Oscar or Schurrle. He has been outstanding since about Dec 13/Jan 14. Less said about the start of last season the better but in the final 2 months of last season he was playing better than Suarez - that's a hell of a compliment.

If he maintains the standards he's set for himself in 2014 I'll be absolutely delighted, the thought he might actually improve is a really exciting one for Liverpool.

I wouldn't consider him as overrated, hes overrated by some, but all players have their 'fans' who rate them higher than others. Theres no doubt he is a talented youngster, who unlike most english players looks comfortable on the ball. The media did sensationalize him a bit, but overall I think everyone can see the enormous talent he has.

Wouldn't get into our first team, but he arguably did have a better season than some of our players (playing similar positions) last year.

Not really..
Sterling has also played RB and I would say he offers more defensively than Willian as well..

Obviously Sterling would get in our team over Oscar or Willian in a standard game. Schurrle cant be dropped at the moment for me as he is such a goal threat from that side (he isnt a better player than Sterling just offers something different). And well Hazard is better

You could argue that Sterling is better than Willian going forward, but in terms of work rate and defence? No chance

Sterling Hazard Schurrle would be good for goals..

I considered Kuyt a defensive striker but fair enough. Willian is a brilliant tackler.

I would happily take a JA606 bet that Schurrle will outscore Sterling this year. With the runs he makes you are going to be seeing Fabregas put him through a lot on MOTD this year

I think most would say his best position is no 10 role behind the striker/s. Seems more productive there, but just goes to show how good his overall game is he can play no10 both wings and Wingback at a high standard at 19.
