We all know it was a huge mistake. No point continuously going on about it, nothing we can do now. What we can do though is sign a striker and DM, inexcusable if Wenger fails to address our most obvious weakness for the 6th transfer window running.
BIggest mistake was not getting in mandzukic before he went to atheletico
yeah i agree, just really saddens me but move on i guess. wenger better sign in these 2 positions.
Won't regret it if we sign a DM and striker. We have good players in fabregas' position. Guarantee if we'd singed fabregas and no striker most people on here would still majority kick off at wenger. Let's hope we use the money on the area we really need the most.
Can only see us getting one out of a DM or ST along with a CB. Not sure which I'd prefer tbh. Probably a DM unless the ST is a superstar like Falcao

Well we aren't going to sign a DM and a CF, at best we will sign Khedira I am guessing. So yea, we turned down Fabregas for Khedira. I'm sure AKBs will find a way to defend that though.
Tbh I think it was much less to do with 'not needing him' and more with Arsene being a proud old fool. A player of his class would improve virtually any team in world football. You don't say no to that, much less for a more than reasonable fee. He'd have improved Barça too if they hadn't insisted on their square pegs in round holes approach.
If we signed fabregas and no DM or striker, we'd still suffer from the exact same problems. We'd be overrun and out muscled in big games, and miss big chances. Fabregas was in no way a priority. Obviously I'd like to have him, just like any other very good player. Let's just see who else we get in first.
But we have not signed Fabregas in will more than likely not get a striker and probably not even a big money DM so we are still not going to get overrun in big games. It will never make sense that we were in the position to sign a world class footballer who would have improved us massively but decided to turn him down and let him go to a rival instead.
But whatever, like I said, Wenger could shít on an AKBs dinner and they would still find a way to make sense of what he was doing.

This is all on ozil, Wenger obviously believes he is a better choice for us

I never see a jigsaw puzzle approach in Wengers management. It's like he starts something off and nearly gets there but still leaves holes in completing the puzzle. He has always done that.
Really baffling and disappointing decision.
Not buy a player because he's better than what we have already?
Forget all our injury problems?
Forget our presence in various cups?
We badly badly need an actual goal-scorer like Fabregas. Apart from Ramsey, none of our midfield nets very many. All assisters!
Madness, if you ask me, a hurt that won't fade as Fabregas doubtless propels Chelsea forward.
I disagree.
Ozil has proven over the years that he is the higher regarded player and has now had a year to get used to the prem. I think he will kick on this season and the difference between spending the money to put Cesc in his position and the difference to the team to put a top CF or DM in the team is far bigger. As long as we buy one, or please both, it will be money better spent. Same wold go for if he took Ramseys position as well.
Then I think we need to question Cescs mentality as well. we had Cesc with us for years and won nothing when the team was built around him. Im not saying Cesc isn't a winner, just that does Wengers style of management work for him. So do we really want him back?
We don't need a fabregas in this team at all, wenger would have took him in otherwise
Its not baffeling at all, we have players in that position he would hinder, if ozil settles then no one would think this was a bad idea
Wait after Arsenal qualify. If we do expect big singing(s)

if he settles we know he doesnt like being the main man at a club, what are your expectations goals wise for ozil in EPL??? I reckon he must score around 10ish.
Ozil joined us to become the main man, did you not read his interviews when he joined?
with a fit ozil and Ramsey all year giroud will score 20+ league goals add on goals from Ramsey, Theo, Alexis and others and we will be fine
Can't believe people still going on about Fabregas for crying out loud. Pathetic, you are embarrassing yourselves. You are the type of blokes who would beg back your partner if she cheated on you
Even forgetting the fact he paid to leave us and screwed us over when we needed him most, please explain how on earth we fit Fabregas into our starting lineup?
Wenger has thought with his head rather than his heart and should be applauded. Instead of buying back his love child who his whole philosophy was built around, he spent money on Sanchez who we needed.
What are you even moaning about, we are not afraid to spend money and we still have weaknesses to address, yet you are still harping on about a position we have ozil or Ramsey occupying, potentially two of the best in the world at their positions.
There's a reason they was such a big diff in ozil and frabregas prices
Fagbregas shitte on wenger when he left and he hasn't forgot that so when he wanted to come back wenger said feck off u bell.
