Torres, pobret, ran and ran and ran but he didn't even know which way he was playing let alone where the goal was.

I like the work rate and amount of effort Costa puts as well. He might not be the best striker around but he does what needs to be done efficiently.

He finishes with confidence as well. So important to have a well known quality striker than plucking players from France after one good season.

6-3 says Chelsea are there for the taking just attack them but you also defend like hell.

Agreed, the way he plays you'd think he'd be little rash with his finishing..but he is so cool and calm in front of the goal. Feck..32 million was it???

How can wenger sleep at night seeing our rivals with costa, dzeko, rvp, strurrige etc. and we have sanogo

With our appauling record in trophies for the last decade, Wenger has never found it hard to sleep well at night simply because so long as we qualify for the Champions League, he couldn't give a monkey's !

Luckily we have sanogo. We'd be screwed otherwise

Chelsea will never be able to shut up shop with Cesc. He gives you so much going forward but defensively you open the game up. Thats why Barca never used him to replace Xavi.

I feel certain posters will busty in on this thread and tell people "to go facking support Chelsea then" in all their intelligence soaked glory. But the frustration comes from seeing other sides willingly and quickly address their faults and holes; Wenger just lets them fester and rot to the point of parody and this striking issue we have (along with centre back and holding player) is just another in a long line of criminal negligence.

We don't have OIL MONEY like Chelsea and City so please lets be realistic for once.

Do we have to read silly articles again whenever Chelsea win games?

seems like it.

We gotta accept that City and Chelsea will compete for the league, Chelsea along with Barca, Real and PSG will compete for the CL.

But it's not just money any more. Chelsea have sold a lot of players and made a lot of money these last windows. It's the players they buy. Ozil is a great player but do you think he's better than Fabregas for the Premier League. Costa was a steal at 32 million when you think how much they got for Lukaku.

What Chelsea have now is a team which can dominate play or play counter or play short or play long. They can play with and without the ball.

You can finally see the pieces of Mourinho's jigsaw falling into place. If they have one weakness, it may be centre defence but Ivanovic can cover and they have Zouma and a host of youngsters.

Tbh Eto'o would have been an ok option considering things now. Better than sanogo, proper striker would have been free, relatively risk free, and would add bit of depth once giroud is back. Reckon he could have got a fair few goals for us. That's unless wenger has a better striker he plans to buy, because we should technically be able to get better than Eto'o

Simple solution. Don't read it.

Yeah we are not as rich as them. But we certainly have the money to get a decent striker in now giroud is out!

That's not even the point. The point people in this thread are making is that other teams seem willing to address their needs and buy players on the basis of that; Wenger, however, simply buys the "best value" in the market or, as with Ozil, irrespective of the actual requirements of the side, the "best available option."

I'd love to see some rhyme, reason and seeming thought put into the building of the team and the elements required to ensure the same mistakes aren't repeated, year after year, season after season. At this point, Wenger is on the path to repeating the exact same mistakes half this board píss themselves about whenever a pundit has gall enough to point them out.
