Im Irish myself but I just cant take to McGregor. I dont know what it is but I just cant get behind the guy. Its probably so many people asking me about him that never watch UFC or never would have if it wasnt for the hype. May be a good thing for the sport but you get a bit protective over something you've followed for year that people suddenly jump on.

UFC are certainly going to try cash in on him. Like Guv said, since GSP/Silva left/got beat there hasn't really been a big box office guy. They have Jon Jones, but 1 bloke fighting 2/3 times a year wont cut it when theyre used to 2/3 each from Silva, Jones and GSP.
The difference between Conor and those 3, is that he isn't the respectable company guy that they are...he is very outspoken and talks trash and is cocky & arrogant. People love that <shit>
It helps when he keeps knocking people out inside a round, after predicting such finishes. His resume so far in the UFC is definitely not the worst...

He'll get his push...I still think Swanson/Edgar (Nov 22nd) winner should fight the Aldo/Mendes (Oct 25th) winner.
Lamas had his shot at Aldo...maybe Lamas/Conor or Zombie/Conor for a shot at the belt after Edgar/Swanson.
I think Edgar beats Swanson & Aldo beats Mendes (Id love Cub to beat Frankie though!!)
And I think Aldo beats Edgar again...and think he would also beat Swanson.

Round 5 Vs Hominick and Rounds 4/5 Vs Edgar is when he has looked most human in the cage...im not sure Edgar has the power to really hurt him though he'd need 4/5 solid hit & run rounds with the occasional TD to help...not impossible for Frankie I admit!
I agree the Mcgregor push feels much much more natural when compared to the likes of Lesnar & Rousey.
Rousey has obviously backed up her hype to a certain extent, although I think Zingano will be her biggest threat to date...and ive not seen enough of Holm to know whether she is legit...former pro boxer and undefeated though....but the division does lack a depth of contenders.
Lesnar on the other hand...
