The beginning of the end
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It'd be the final nail in the coffin for me and a few of my generation. I'd start watching lower or non league instead.

Pretty much said the same thing on another thread Knotty.

I'd call it a day & just stick to watching Lancashire muck up every other week in the CC!

It will happen though I reckon soon enough, sadly.

Don't forget the welsh!

Really can't see this working that well.

What if two top teams have to play against each other abroad, then the return game one of them gets the advantage of being at home? Strange.

Will cause massive arguements.

Well if they did introduce it then the fixture would have to be played abroad home and away, and tickets sold in such a manner that ensured a fair split, which in practice would be impossible.

It's such a bad idea I don't even know why i'm taking up server space discussing it.

Yes, you couldn't split the fixture over two seasons as some have suggested, it wouldn't take into account relegation for a start.

Many factors would come into account which is why it won't just be a 39h game, they'll push for a 40th & they probably wouldn't stop there neither.

There's no need for there to be fairness with how the fixtures are split. it'd be a decision made for money only.

it would solve spurs stadium issue though... move all games involving spurs to antarctic for that year..

Play the League Cup abroad. Nobody cares about it in England anyway according to every thread on these boards.

I can't stand the thought of 110,000 Americans turning up for two lower league teams and it being a boring 0-0. That wouldn't be good for the EPL.
