theres a big dif in watching the team you support through the crap(ie what probably got you interested in football to start with), and voluntary doing it at national level.

last time i probably enjoyed watching england play was when we had shearer and sherringham up front, in my opinion we have been poo ever since, so no wonder a lot have gone off int football.

club and int football, not the same thing.

Are you referring to his amazing goal scoring exploits at the major tournaments?

=====

I never said where, just he has a better record and can score goals. More than any current player by a mile. In fact I would guess better than the rest combined in current squad

So he can show everyone how to score goals against average opposition, and then how to become anonymous when it really matters, when playing teams with a ranking in the top 30. That'll really help....

at times Rooney is not anonymous.

Do you realise what a total contradiction that sentence is?

Is that now 31 competitive goals for England from Rooney.

If only others could match his record

Yes, another one to add to his collection in low key qualifiers. Doesn't change his terrible record in actual tournaments, does it?

Who do we have who has a better record?

Anyone shown they can do it....

If we're talking the kind of father you'd get on The Jeremy Kyle Show then I could believe it.

The sad thing is that Rooney should have got a hat-trick but only got one. That is the source of frustration with him.

Rooney should have had 6 in the last two games.

You can never knock his efforts and willingness to get into goalscoring positions, but his chance conversion rate isn't good.

I think this is why he relatively struggles for goals at the highest level.
