He had his opportunities..couldn't cut it in Prem..Must more suited to slower league such in Italy.
World-class player, shame that the fans turned on him and wenger can't manage big personalities
He did show flashes of genius, but I think his biggest problem was confidence. The fans didn't have confidence in him, and it appears that Wenger certainly didn't, which is shocking, considering that Wenger usually sticks with under-performing players until they come good.
Gervinho = human trafficker
Needs to get his head out of his arris, couldn't cut it in the premiership, tough but true.
Lamela looked WC in Serie A and looks like trash in the PL. Maybe some players arent made for the PL.
The Italian league is on par with the french league these days, maybe even worse, it shouldn't be that surprising that he's doing better there than he ever did in the PL.
Toothless against City in mid week as well
Wenger should of had him performing to his true potential like he is showing now for Rudi Garcia. Fact is Wenger mismanaged him, just like he is mismanaging Podolski & Joel Campbell.
Of course players are going to be shít if the Manager shows them zero confidence.
He should hate himself, he had his chance with us and fluffed it big time. Not good enough end of!.
He made a promising start to his Arsenal career but his touch could be shocking at times and he got stuck in bad patches of form too often, I don't think Wenger made any mistakes in his management of him.
Gervinho couldn't score in a brothel... Terrible player and a true wobbler.
We are far better off without him.
Only reason we ended up with him was coz Wenger was too cheap to pay up for Hazard.
gervinho has skill and ability but lacks an end product.
Against City he DID cause them problems, but the end product? wasn't there. Maybe in Serie A they give him more space more opportunities.
Deep down I'm sure gervy doesn't hate us at all, but maybe he is a WOB???
Everybody saying he wasn't fit for the prem, I think that is a very harsh evaluation, considering it was mostly his shooting that let him down. He had a lot of games where he did indeed play well.
I think the shooting problem was down to confidence. Imagine if Liverpool had pulled the plug on Suarez, who was a terrible finisher when he first arrived in the prem?

He definitely is WOB if the article is anything to go on

Wenger played him a lot! Means he had confidence obviously. But that sitter vs Bradford was the end of him, and good riddance too, worst attacking player the club has seen.

good point
But wenger sticks with Giroud as CF and wont play Podolski as a left attacking midfield, but Pod gets the same or thereabouts with the number of goals and probably get more assists than Giroud. Which one is not doing their job?
Bebe's Day Out
The same can be said about Pogba with u guys.
I think he was always a little underrated by some Arsenal fans, but technically, he was pretty erratic to say the least.
I think the main reason Gervinho's performing so much better at Roma than he did here at Arsenal is the system he plays in under Garcia.
Whilst he was given license to make diagonal runs in-behind at Arsenal, he was ultimately played more as a winger than a wing-forward - he had much more responsibility to drop deep when we lost possession, which gave him much less freedom to stretch the opposition back-line.
At Roma, whilst on paper, he plays in a similar position, he's generally stationed much higher up the pitch than he was at Arsenal. With Totti's proclivity to drop deep to collect the ball, Roma's system often demands that Gervinho push higher up and make runs off the shoulders of the defenders.
In fact, if you look at the average positions over the course of a match, Gervinho is often Roma's most advanced player.
The same technical deficiencies remain, but Garcia has created a system that plays to Gervinho's strengths - namely his pace and off-the-ball running.

Absolutely. Maybe even Forlan? This is not an attack on Arsenal, I was waiting for an arsenal fan to post this first, but nobody had. As soon as I got over my hangover, I decided to do it myself

Very nice assessment. I'll look out for that next time he's playing.
Wenger gave him more opportunities than he deserved. Yao Kouassi only has himself to blame.
