He is greedy that's why, stole the ball off cazorla
Look at his general play, holds onto the ball for too long
I also don't feel a player should take a pen when they were the ones that were fouled. Henry was our main penalty taker but there were many instances when he was fouled Pires or Lauren took the pens.
Why shouldn't you take it if you were fouled?
The challenge yesterday was quite a bad one which could have inflicted a little bit of pain on Sanchez temporarily so when you're not feeling great there's always a very high chance you would miss the pen.
Fabregas scored a pen for us with a broken leg. Henry only never took pens after being fouled because of some stupid superstition, nothing to do with pain.
Yeah that could be true. Or maybe if your angry for being fouled, might distract you a bit. But I think if your feeling ok and confident, then there's no reason why you shouldn't take it if you were fouled.
He probably felt confident and up for it, which is what you want when taking a pen. Sometimes you just mess them up a bit. Hard to predict that It could happen.
It never had anything to do with the physical result of a challenge. It was more to do with the adrenaline. Henry thought that if you were fouled you would not be thinking properly, and thus more likely to take the penalty differently to what you trained yourself to do.
All b0llocks of course.
Why did Alexis take it yesterday? Because he was full of confidence in his own ability to score from it, and he loves scoring. Santi wasn't strong enough in laying down the law.
I can't believe it was just a case of Alexis saying he wants to take the penalty so that's that. Surely Wenger has a say on these things and decides who the pen taker is. It has to be Cazorla or Giroud who have respectable records from the spot for us. Obviously that's when Arteta isn't playing who is easily our best pen taker.
Also remove him from corner duty because his corners are facking terrible.
Surely Wenger has a say on these things and decides who the pen taker is.
=============
Wenger said Arteta is our first choice taker, Santi is current first choice. He cannot really control what happens in that moment. Santi, or the captain, has to take responsibility. Both obviously were happy for Alexis to take it.
Managers and ex players etc always say in shootouts you go with the people who want to take it, and feel the most confident and up for it.
Wenger probably has about 3/4 players who he has on penalty duty, then who takes it is probably decided at the time, and who is feeling most confident and in the right frame of mind.

One of the stupidest comments of recent times on here.
Wenger said post match Santi is first on the list and doesn't know why Alexis took it, didn't seem to bothered though but these kind of things can cost us. if it's 3-0 then give the pen to someone else but not at 0-0
That's what comes of not having a proper captain on the pitch.
Wenger really needs to have a word about that issue. Santi should have say something to Alexis and take the pen.
I was probably more disappointed in Santi tbh. He should have insisted, that's the first goal in a match. Of course Alexis would've wanted to have taken it, Santi needed to slap him down.

Not really i't's a thing called common sense something you clearly lack!
If you think that was one of the most stupid comments, you clearly haven't been on this site for more than 10mins!
I just find it funny that 50 was calling somebody stupid.
When something seems illogical at the club, just blame Wenger

you could have a good point here.
Oh yh and regarding Santi, Wenger said he's too nice...sums up the team really
Its quite common for players to pull rank, it always infuriates the manager if they miss.

Yep agreed. I also blame Wenger for the credit crunch
Wenger used to previously preach that the player fouled should NOT take the penalty. Dunno what happened to that philosophy?
