I think Joel Campbell is another one those typical South American/African buys. Its abt how many times he moves so the agent/player/ownership can maximise transfer fees. I doubt he will ever show how good he is or not!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What the fack
There's a lot of competition for his place unfortunately for him, and he's definitley not better than the players he has in front of him. Loaning him is definitely the best option for both parties, he has the chance to prove himself now. Its podolski leaving that makes less sense. I can understand it, but think he was a useful player to have, more useful than campbell.
And Coquelin did well in midfield against WHU, his first start. Joel Campbell looked a bit short of his team-mates, even when we destroyed Galatasaray 4-1.
--------------------------------------------
Coquelin has been playing every match before he was recalled, JC has not been playing at all. Big difference.
Not sure why loaning Podolski makes less sense, Year.
He wasn't in Wengers plans, barely playing even when the likes of Walccott, Ozil, Gnabry and Giroud were out.
Was he more useful than Campbell, another player in the same situation, or merely as useful as him?

Didn't do enough when he had his chances im afraid. He's one of those that needs a regular run in the side to get consistency.
That said, he was decent against hull in the cup.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree with you.
Comparing Campbell's situation to Coquelin's is slightly missing the point, to put it mildly.
Better to look at the three forwards that have gone out on loan this window:
Podolski
Sanogo
Campbell
and place them in order of their contribution to the side this season.
If you find Campbell's name at the bottom of the list, (which frankly you should) why question shipping him out?
Podolski you might have some basis of an arguement for. The other two? Not a chance.
I agree that loaning podolski makes sense. I mean more that podolski was more useful to our team than campbell. Out of the 2 Id rather loan campbell and keep podolski.
"What did Coquelin do to get his chance?"

Be a fit, CDM.
Really can't see how this could possibly relate to any argument as to whether Campbell has or hasn't been given a chance at Arsenal.
Unfortunately whether through bad luck, rustiness or lack of application, on those rare occasions when he has had a run out he hasn't impressed. Even in the world cup he always looked tired after an hour.
Obviously Wenger sees him in training and is not that impressed either.
A loan deal kind of makes sense although you know that with 3 forwards out on loan and with our luck,we are bound to suffer terrible injuries in that department . Still no sign of Welbeck coming back either. I still think that we should have kept Poldi as an impact player.
Tbh I'm surprised by the comments here saying he was decent against Hull in the Cup.
With Walcott similarly, but more understandably, off the pace it felt like we were playing with 9 men for most of the match.
Wenger used sanogo ahead of campbell, don't tell me for one second he has a future at arsenal, he'll make a decent career in la liga or portugal
Bang average player. End of.
That video of those 'fans' after Stoke. "Get out while you still can, Joel"
Sanogo vs Campbell is a no-brainer, I will take Campbell all day long.
He is a player with potential and deserved much better than Arsenal. He is a good young, quality player. He should do well at Villareal.
Campbell's agent has been instigating a move ever since he arrived. Joel Campbell was never interested in working hard, improving and getting into the first team. There is too much money in continuously moving from club to club every couple of years and that requires Joel to be first choice irrespective of whether he is good enough compared to other players.

Campbell was never going to have the patience to establish himself at Arsenal.
J99, you keep saying it but moving on loan is not that lucrative for player or agent. He has had one permanent transfer in his career only, and his attitude and willingness to work hard whether it be on loan, or at Arsenal, has never been questioned.
The fact that Olympiakos, Betis and his manager at Betis all desperately wanted to keep hold of him shows that your accusation is quite fanciful.
Why did he deserve better?
Not really a winger or a striker. Shown less for us than Welbeck, Sanchez, Ox, Gnabry, Podolski and yes Sanogo.
Sanogo might be noticeably poor at times but to be able to have an impact in big games still requires something. All Joel has ever done is give short passes to someone else.
Physicists are still trying to work out the Sanogo chaos factor.

They both made good runs and got into decent positions. Finishing let them down obviously.
Campbell is such a 4-4-2 striker. It's hard to find places for those kinds of players these days.

Sanogo has been more effective both when starting and during substitute appearances for Arsenal.
There is simply no denying that, whatever our thoughts on the French lad's actual quality is.

Its called versatility and has a similar impact both up top and out wide. So that is always useful to have.
Campbell doesn't have an impact in big games? Look at the World Cup. All of them games were big games and Campbell probably made the biggest impact in the World Cup tbh. Sanogo and Campbell are different players that are similar quality.
That was for Costa Rica though, not Arsenal.
Campbell was poor in the WC apart from one overhyped game, not seen anything from him yet to suggest he's Arsenal quality.
