nah you are right your undermined VC and recognised top striker sorted 10 MINUTES according to you and when news of Stevies comments filtered down there was hearty belly laughs and back slaps all round. And today they all laughed merrily while reading the latest Ballotelli story the rascal

Meltdown....
Bonus points.......
it would have been a non topic. But his comments have added fuel to the fire.

It IS a non-topic.
And the attempts to turn it into some kind of seismic event today have been highly entertaining.

But Rodgers tried to clear things up by saying: "There has been a lot more drama made about it from you [the media] than us.
"It's very clear who the penalty takers are. When Steven [Gerrard] plays he is number one. With the players on at the start of the game Jordan was nominated penalty taker.
"But if Jordan, Steven and Mario are on the pitch at the same time then we normally have Steven or Mario take penalties."
yeh henderson and sturridge appeared "very clear" on what was happening when mario took the ball from his VC
You lot love a bit of drama. Yesterday was lacking so you've resorted to making it up .

did henderson and sturridge look like they were "very clear" on who was to take the pen. Did steveie g not criticise mario for his actions.
Maybe Brendan should rephrase his statement by saying apart from the captain, VC and Top striker its very clear to all our players who the penalty takers are....

.........
Thats the thing, it was an oversight,it wasnt clarified who should take the penalties once substitutions had been made, only who was designated to take them at the start of the game
Had Gerrard been the sub, would he have let Henderson take it simply because he was on the white board prior to kick off ?, course not, he`d have taken it himself
When all is said and done, the right man took it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would have henderson behind both sturridge and mario for pens and would opt for mario myself out of the 3. But there is spin coming from brendan over last night in the aftermath of the incident itself and stevies comments.
This could leave a shadow over our whole season, maybe even into next.
Has David Cameron had his say on the matter yet?
