How do you mean D'jeezus? I'm not saying what we have is the finished product yet but we bring through young English talent. I'll freely admit that we took Sterling and ibe later on but over the many years Liverpool have produced many England players from the Fowler's to the Flanagan's.

I know what's coming through though I guess but I not saying Liverpool are the self styled youth producers and I've always got the feeling Arsenal fans feel this despite producing next to no first team players over two decades.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I mean you cannot say we only got Gibbs when he was 14/15 then claim Sterling and Ibe, that is what I meant. Same with Dazza praising Liverpool for a youth system that only really has Sterling so far, yet saying Cesc cannot be classed as an Arsenal product, despite coming to Arsenal at the same age as Sterling to Liverpool and with similar amount of 'hype'.

Obviously it doesn't help with Tika commenting, making the discussion warped, but from my POV it looks like different standards are being set for Arsenal.

I've been talking about Ward Prowse for a couple of seasons. His dead ball delivery is some of the best in the league. I think he lacks pace, however, and maybe a stone wall position. Technically I think he could be a number 10.

Arsenal have the top youth academy in Europe closely followed by Barca, we churn out world class talent each year, Wilshere, Gibbs, Szczesny etc.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Who are the "etc's". Gibbs came in at 14 or 15 as did Schez. Who are the others just out of interest?

Yeah that's true, Mex, the ceiling hasn't been high but there's been a large number of player making it as pros.

Obviously this is symptomatic of English football, though.

Hopefully in the coming years this can change, but I have my doubts.

Which is fine DJ but where did I claim Sterling and Ibe? You need to think things through.

United and Liverpool fans very jealous of Arsenal's youth academy I see, how pathetic.

......................

I wasn't aware you had one.

If you had a youth academy of note you wouldn't have gifted us 20 million for Welbs.

I've got high hopes that McNair, Wilson and Januzaj will be first team players in the future Dazza

Welbeck is currently England's best striker.

McNair is a good player, Uniteds record in matches where he has started is pretty indicative of that. Wilson looks decent too.

Blackett is rash and has a lot to learn however, I don't think he will make it at Utd.

Our academy is working wonders at the moment. Tex has a chance of making it but needs to become more consistent. I have very high hopes for Harry Wilson and Ojo though.

Liverpool fans trying to claim that Cesc wasn't one of our youth products but Sterling is one of theirs. How low.

I didn't praise Liverpool's youth system for who they've brought through.

And I stand by the fact Cesc cannot be considered an Arsenal acadamy product. Especially as he was training with the first team in his first season.

I'm not sure on Blackett either, seems either too rash or too casual at times, he clearly has talent, but whether he's got the nous to go with it I'm not sure

No, he is not.

Given the competition for Sterlings signature when we signed him at 16, I not sure you can really credit that player to the academy.

The rest are all a work in progress so it's too early to say.

Honestly, I would not say Liverpool's academy is second only to Barcalona's. Southampton and Bayern have produced better young players over the last ten years.

I'm not sure what Guardiola's real motives actually were when he made that comment.
