The presenter desperately tried to play down the awful tackle although pundits Jenas and Kilbane were having none of it
Deny it was a red card? its a clear red card, though I think it was accidental by all means. Matic red was correct too you have sympathy for him but we all know as well as he does you cant react like that.

Tough for Matic to have to miss a Cup Final but guess most of us would've reacted in some way to such a leg-breaker, some, (including me) probably worst. As Chris Waddle tweeted "even Lineker would've reacted to that one".

Isn't Noel Gallagher on tonights MOTD? Can't think he'd find too much wrong with the challenge if Matic has to sit out a couple of league games...
Anyone that says it wasn't intentional is insane. If it want intentional why did he get up and turn away like nothing happened. If the ref has blown the whistle Matic wouldn't have reacted that way. He was on the floor for at least 2 sec and the whistle didn't go off. I would have punched the ref as well.
Only the guy himself would know if its intentional, but it looks bad.
I did something similar once and that was completely unintentional. I was chasing the ball after a bad 1st touch, and I stuck my leg out because I thought the guy was going to launch it upfield. He turned his back on my and tried to shield the ball - completely unexpected. He put his leg right where my foot was supposed to land and I came down right on his achilles. Absolutely accidental but it looked shocking. Oddly the ref never even gave a free kick.

It was intentional just like Shawcross on Ramsay all those years ago.
Luckily all Matic got was a red for his fair reaction, could have been a lot worse had his leg snapped.
