rip Khan for fighting Algieri...then set up a fight against Frankie Gavin, unreal.

Pointless fight for Brook. He needs to get in with the likes of Thurman, Maidana etc to prove that he can hack it.

No doubt he has the talent. The Porter fight could have gone either way. He needs to start making noise in America by fighting big names. Frankie Gavin? Absolute joke of a fight and the type he'll consistently get now with Eddie Hearn. Hearn only wants the Khan fight because of how much money he will earn off it.

Would have preffered he was fighting Brandon Rios than Gavin.

I have a feeling this kind of thing will happen for a while at WW. The top ten all wanting desperately to get a golden ticket shot at Mayweather (or Paq).
There will one possible two chances for one of the chasing pack to get that golden ticket. Until May retires we’ll have to get used to most of the top WW’s talking BS while dancing around each other fighting B class fighters to “keep busy”.

Hearn had to deliver a PPV event. He was practically in tears when Khan and Frampton turned him down and he's put all his eggs in one basket.

The main event is diabolical. Both are really going to have to go to acting classes to sell this fight.

Is this the main event?

yup. Mitchell, Joshua, Selby below it.

Top stuff. Looking forward to it

Nah on a serious note. Cant berate Khan and not berate Kel Brook now. Shameful fight to take after winning the world title against Porter... Somehow though, I dont see there being that big of a backlash from boxing fans over here in the UK. Certainly not as much as there was for Khan.

Since beating Porter, Brook has fought/will fight Jojo Dan, Gavin and Rios

Yeah crazy.

Both mugging their fans.

The sport it a fecking joke.

Boxing fans being mugged off again. Hearn promotes both fighters so he's happy.

The Cant.

Khan has by and large always taken on the best and never turned down a fight with the exception of this Brook fight which could not be made due to logistic reasons. We can cut him slack this time providing comes late 2015 he's not fighting Jo Jo Dan.

Crook on the other hand had all summer to arrange a top opponent. The like of Bradley, Thurman, Maidana available even before you mention Rios and Marquez and as per usual he's gone for the easy option. I bet the sky team who all bereted Khan despite legitimate reasons will not say a bad word about this none event.

Agree Amir Khan has consistently fought high level fighters so the criticism he gets is way over the top. I would like to see him more active these day's though.

Beginning to really dislike Eddie Hearn. Also last weekend was a farce imo. Charging all sorts of money to see Anthony Joshua fight absolute fat, clueless nobody's.

After Porter, fair enough give Brook one fight to tick him over but he should have been back out to face a bigger name.

After the absolute shambles that Cleverley - Bellew was as a PPV event this has really sickened me. The same month as May-Pac PPV too

A decent card but I wouldn't pay for it.
Mitchell vs Linares is the fight of the night

Let's be honest, Khan has never taken on the best.
He has fought some good fighters but never the best.

Khan's resume is definitely overrated, Brook's win over Porter is better than anything on Khan's resume, but Khan's never had a ducking reputation, he usually fights whoever is put in front of him. That's why I'm giving him a pass for ducking Brook for now because I believe the fight will happen soon, within the next year probably.

But Brook has no excuses, he's fought 32 bums already, there's no need to keep fighting them, his apprenticeship is over. He can't just wait around for Khan and keep fighting these bums in the mean time. Khan is waiting around for Mayweather and Brook is waiting around for Khan. They're both doing what they're accusing eachother of doing, difference is Khan has at least taken some risks in his career and proven to have balls, so he should get less hear

This has to bomb on PPV otherwise it's the future for the boxing fans. Get to watch Dross on Sky Sports and pay for the real 50/50 domestic fights.

Matchroom are quickly becoming a joke and a bane on the sport.

You are right again forum, this is a great Saturday night line up,even over a couple of weekends but PPV?
I did a little write up jokingly a few months ago after the Balloo fight, looks like it is coming true especially if Kal Yafai becomes the semi-intergalactic interim title holder on the same bill.
Sadly as a regular Saturday night Homer in both appearance and social life i will probably pay.

If this is a success then you might as well forget about any decent fights on SS1 anymore.

Think the problem is Brook needs/wants his next big fight to be vs Khan because if he fights say a Maidana or Rios etc etc he'd likely only get half the money or a 1/4 of the money, and if he loses khan wouldn't fight him.

Looking for that one big payday

John Locke.

Do you actually believe khan ducked Brook? Do you believethat PR stunt eEddie pulled was genuinely an attempt to make a fight with Khan? If you do, Tower Bridge is for sale.

Outside of Floyd, khan has fought the best.
