I really don't think the damage is irreparable. We've seen it with Rooney as you said. The most important thing is that he performs for the team next season if he remains. If that is the case, the fans won't be on his case
Football fans are a fickle bunch. If he stays and scores a few goals, everyone will forget the names they've called him.

seems like every quote hasn't really been a quote at all and eveyone's going into overdrive outrage over rumours and false leaks
it's obvious he'd like a move, but I think the reality of the situation is far more tame than what the media turned it into
If the club and Sterling came out and said the same (if no move happens) I think his performances would outweigh the media shiitestorm currently underway
No we should take a leaf out of utd's book and send round the salford boys in hoodies and balaclava's to wait outside his house to scare him into staying
He has with me.
Not because of anything his yob of an agent has said (or hasn’t said, whatever the case may be...who knows what the truth is?), but because of his performances since the contract situation first arose. In his head, he’s already left. The difference with Suarez is that he can’t help himself giving everything he’s got, it’s the way he’s made, but after what I’ve seen, I wouldn’t trust Sterling to be focussed and put it behind him.
For that reason, I’m oot, and I sincerely hope Sterling fvcks off as soon as possible.
If he stays, I’d have to find some way of supporting him, but I can’t think of another player we’ve had that I would have so much difficulty supporting.
I'm basically not too bothered either way. I'd probably edge on wanting him to stay because continuity is always better than change. But if an acceptable offer comes in then sell him.
Mind you, I always enjoy the idea of keeping jumped up brats and letting them rot in the reserves, thus ruining their development. I do accept the impracticalities of this approach though
I'm more shallow than you Wessie
as soon as he scores I go back to
but I also never start with the assumption players love us and are lifer Liverpool supporters just because they sign.

Nor do I.
It’s never occured to me that Raheem might be a lifer, that’s not why I want him out.
It’s not personal, I don’t give a monkey’s what he does beyond that, I just think it’s bad for the club to keep him, given his frame of mind over the past few months (and what it might say about his attitude to the game).
If he stays, I’ll do my best, but that’s looking more unlikely with each passing day.
If he stays I would be indifferent to him. He performs on the pitch then great, if not the animosity will grow.
The comparison with Roony is not quite right as he was the top man of a team winning things. LFC and Sterling are neither of those things.
The main issue I have with all this is, if he does leave, then we will be weaker still. I dont have any faith we'll be able to replace lost talent in the short term.
Not too bothered either way really, if we keep him then that's good I suppose, a good player with a bright future.
If he leaves then i'll be glad to see the back of the little shít sooner rather than later.
Either way he will not be remembered fondly, he's done literally nothing to warrant this superstar status he thinks he has.
