Under the Webster rule, Sterling can buy out the remainder of his contract at Xmas and leave in the January window. Because Liverpool currently pay him peanuts, it will cost him peanuts to do this. Pretty funny.

You think £35,000 a week is peanuts?
I'm only on £35k a month and I struggle to pay bills

Plus this says there is an age limit and you have to be over 28 to buy yourself out of a deal.

Why is Brendan wearing a skin tight UnderArmour shirt?

he left his armour outside gets in the way a bit behind the desk.
£35k is peanuts compared to most of his team-mates.

You can't sell a player who refuses to leave. That's what Bosman was all about.
--------
Again you display you have no clue.
No, that is not what Bosman was about you moron.
For fleshlight:
The Bosman ruling meant that players could move to a new club at the end of their contract without their old club receiving a fee. Players can now agree a pre-contract with another club for a free transfer if the players' contract with their existing club has six months or less remaining.
.. and I expect him to see it out"
says Rodgers in today's press conference.
So.. meeting cancelled, and a straight bat putting the ball back in Sterling's agents hands.
Hope he takes it home and fecks off.
----------------------------------
I don't think so. What on Earth has LFC got to say, if anything to him or his agent, other than the date of him returning to start pre-season training. For his agent, the idiot, nothing intelligent that he would be able to understand. There is absolutely nothing to discuss.

this is a very good point..
im struggling to see where all the hate for Sterling stems from. He is at a job like any other...if he feels he could do better elsewhere good look to the kid. Grass is not always greener but again applies in every job oppurtunity. In this case Liverpool are currently an absolute shambles of a club in my opinion. The club (including BR) completely screwed up a great oppurtunity to cement a CL position for the coming seasons by signing hopefuls due to not offering top dollars to better more established players. If i was Sterling (recently rated best young player in Europe) I would be out of there.
Redinthehead.
Thanks for calling me a moron, but the fact that you've clearly misinterpreted what he wrote is a clear indication that you also lack brain sells.
I'll spell it out for you, be//end. the Bosman ruling favours the player. In the case of Sterling, it's not in the interests of either party to let it go that far. Sterling doesn't want to rot at the club for 2 years and the club don't want to miss out on the fee. Therefore, as I've already said, the idea that lfc will dig their heels in a force him to see out his contract, is nonsense.

Why would you admit that you lack brain "sells"? Hardly strengthens your argument
You can't sell a player who doesn't want to leave, you can't stop a player from leaving once his contracts expired, and you can't force a player to stay if he wants to leave. If you morons can't see that you you're a lot denser than I imagined.

It was an example of self-deprecating humour. Obviously doesn't work all readers.
"and you can't force a player to stay if he wants to leave."
sure you can
Ronaldo, Cesc, Suarez are proof
Just not for more than a season or two
'Brain sells' has now been added to the hall of fame with rocket sconce and an shambles
He cells brain sells by the see shore
Simple fact is that even if we forced Sterling to see out the 2 years on his deal we would still receive a compensation fee because he's still under 24 and going by previous compo fees it would be a good amount.
We'd still make a profit.
Leave him alone..he was just being pacific about his point...
