I don't get all the fuss about Adam's, the same as Alonso's, Rooney's & Beckham's, just from a bit further away. Much prefer Defoe's, Zamora's and Mata's.

Defoe would have been my pick for goal of the season.

I liked Zamora's.

I'd have given it to Zamora.
To be fair, I like a good Thunderbstrd of a strike, but pretty much anyone can score one of those at some stage.
I prefer a good team goal ( Wilshere's last year was a smasher ) or a genuinely top notch solo run.
But on those shows, if it's in off the bar - it'll probably win.

Wilshere's was a cracking goal, no doubt. A really sweet strike, but it wasn't as technically good as Zamora's, and I don't think it was as good a hit as Defoe's.

The Phillips goal should won, youll not get too many goals that go in like that, from that distance, and with that power.

Had it been a well known player it would have won for sure.

I don't see how anybody can conclude that Wilshere goal was better than the likes of Adam, Zamora etc

It was though also against a GK who was set - others feature a GK out of position and scrambling back - and a GK who was one of the top 2 or 3 in the PL this season.

And it may not have been any better than the other 3, but those are 3 strikes over a 15-20 year period, beating a GK from your own half is very rare.

I did like Defoe's though, especially given that it was a left-foot shot, a foot that half the PL players can't even use to stand on, let alone hit a volley from 20 yards.

Zamora for me.

I'd say Charlie Adam's. I really dislike the guy but had that been Rooney, Aguero, Hazard etc it would win without a second thought.

All good goals and worthy winners though....

Did Rooney's against West Ham win last season? Don't think it did.

Rooneys bounced, it was also 20 yards closer to the goal and was there to be hit.

Adams was better than Rooneys, on par or perhaps better than Beckhams.

Seriously, from the position Adam was in he had no right to even try, you can't say that about the other strikes as the keepers were out of position.

TBH I just favoured Beckham's over Adams, I felt Beckhams shot was more precise.

Zamora or Adams for me, leaning towards Zamora...

The thought required with Zamora's wins it for him.

He had to pick it up like a tennis shot, outside of the boot, on the run, being harrassed, bring it down under the bar, not let it bounce over.

Really very good.

I prefer Rooney against villa.
Much hard to pull off than any of those other shots

What about Pelle's or Mata's acrobatic attempts? Both required more skill than just thumping it as hard as you can.

The thing I don't like about Adam's goal is that I've seen him try that about 10 times, one was bound to go in, also, is it harsh to suggest that Courtois could have done better? he got a good hand to it.

The goal Chelsea scored with hundreds of touches,. Gary Neville's favourite too. Can't remember who it was against

Phillips for me, just an amazing strike.

Can't believe Phillips' wasn't even a nominee - would have been my vote to win it.

Thought Di Maria's chip against Leicester was better than the lot to be honest.

Adams for me. It was clearly spoken about before the game and the execution on it was perfect.

====================

No it didnt - probably because it was a different goal. The ball bounced whilst the goalkeeper was daydreaming.
