You surely aren't serious? Ings > Adebayor

I agree with you, we do like a real Plan B. Konoplayanka is a good direct winger which is what we seem to lack. But I do agree with you completely.

righteous

So my question to you is, why would they offer him a contract he isn't going to sign?

Kono would be an upgrade on Sterling. Ings will be a journeyman footballer like Lambert.

Neither are good enough for Spurs, Pool are welcome to them

Genuine question Billy,

Who would you like us to realistically sign this summer?

Jason Scotland and Clint Hill

Konoplayanka is good, but Sterling is better. I wouldn't say he would be an upgrade. He would be an upgrade on Markovic, although, Konoplayanka needs to learn his defensive duties, not sure he'd suit your formation personally. Ings is better than Lambert, just Lambert is a different option. A Plan B, something we don't have.

So they get about 5m in compensation from a tribunal rather than nothing

Christ this is like pulling teeth.

If they offer him a contract they are GUARANTEED compensation for him.

If they don't, they are not.

Why do you think they might offer him one?

Can you guess?

That costs money though, which we have found out before only ends in flops like Soldado, Lamela, Paulinho and Capoue.

So are you saying or implying that:

Spending decent money = flops
Freebies = definite quality

Or am I just misunderstanding your point?

posted on 27/5/15

Nope. But we don't have a very good track record with spending money and getting quality. I'm not saying they will be quality player for us, but at least they won 't be considered flops if we get them for free.

So what happens if Ings rejects the contract? Will they still get their compensation?

I don't see it with Sterling. He runs hard has real pace but his end product is in need of drastic improvement. And his finishing is an absolute joke. Add that to his poor attitude and you have another SWP in waiting. Very overrated.

Won't get either,Levy will start negotiations all blushing and farting,by that time they will have gone elsewhere.

So he runs hard but has a bad attitude and his end product needs drastic improvement despite creating the highest amount of chances in the entire side and out scoring all his peers the same age.

Right.

He's had a bad few months, but he's supremely talented, I'd take him at United for the right price

Team Stream reporting £12m bid from Spurs for Ings has been accepted by Burnley.
If correct another reasonably good player choosing to go elsewhere, or being driven to that conclusion by the complete buffoons that manage this club.

Who says we're even interested in him?

Sterling is the new Aaron Lennon, he is quick and tricky but goes missing against good defenders, he can`t finish, can`t tackle, can`t head and has the shooting ability of a girl

Sterling has weaknesses in his game, but he has already proved that he is one of our best players.

If a massive bid comes in I have no problem leaving because of the way he and his agent have acted, but the bid has to be big enough to represent a good deal for Liverpool.

Just because he behaving like a little doesn't diminish what he can do when he has his head screwed on.

I agree he could be great. Very young and lots of time to improve, I just feel at the moment he's allowed himself to get distracted at a critical point in his career. He can blame it on Liverpool if he likes but there will be distractions wherever he goes from now on.

I can see Pool getting £15m for Sterling, a good deal all round

In that case let's play safe and only sign freebies. I heard that Barton, Wright-Phillips and Dunne are available.
