Balotelli - Your Thoughts

Because it shows his contribution in perspective. A third of his career goals are from the spot. A lot more from deadball situations.

Basically unless there are no defenders he doesn't actually do a lot does he.

his goalscoring record was abysmal. There is no getting around that.

however, I think he's excellent at hold up play and he's regularly challenging defenders and winning free kicks in dangerous areas.

and his short passing / link up play is quite good as well.

to me that suggests he'd make a great partner for a proper goalscorer.

If we sold him I wouldn't lose any sleep and considering how Rodgers has been using him it's probably for the best.

But I still think he'd be a very good player if used properly.

All of this.

Touch, pace, strength, good in the air and hold up play?

Hmmmm, sounds like all the attributes of a quality lone striker to me. He should be rolling defenders and running at defences, working channels and tiring out his opposition because he's an athlete.

He isn't though because he cannot be bothered. He likes the flicks, coming deep, the odd trick.

He doesn't use his own skill set well. He could but he doesn't. It's not like he's old and can't learn, Sterling did it in weeks, he simply wants to play a position of his own.

He's not a 10, he's not a 9 and he's not a midfielder.

Unfortunately there isn't a name for the position he wants to play. It doesn't exist in football.

Looks like your getting your way anyhow. He'll be sold soon and replaced by the legend that is Danny Ings. If ever there was example of mediocrity - he's it. But it's ok because he 'works hard'.

It's 'The Berbatov' with added off pitch silliness.

Very few modern teams want to indulge that type of player.

Danny Ings is out scoring him shortlight. Comfortably.

It's not okay because he works hard. It's okay because he puts the ball in the net more.

Ings may or may not be a success if he joins.

However, I'm 100% certain he will offer more than Mario has.

It would be hard not to.

Cost less then Balo, scores more goals, has a better attitude, isn't in the papers every other day.

Struggling to see the negatives. He's an upgrade.

Ings is bang average. It proves just what a shambles this club has become that some fans actually view his signing as a sign of progress. He'll go the same way as majority of Rodgers' signings: misused, badly man-managed then sold for a loss.

Term.

I thought you didn't read those kinds of papers?

Yeah like that Suarez chap and soon to be Sterling. Getting offered £14m for Borini is another example.

Oh hang on - you don't have a single example of what you just said! It's almost as if you don't have a clue what you're talking about really isn't it.

I don't need to read those papers to know that Balotelli is in them. Most of his antics are either on here or on Twitter.

Nice try though

Robbing.

Only one of the three you mentioned was signed by Rodgers. And there's no way we'll get £14m for him now.

It's almost as if you have no idea what you're talking about.

I would bet a large sum of money that given the same game time as Mario had this season, he would score more goals. So I can't see how he's anything other than an upgrade on Balo.

Granted, he doesn't have a fancy European name, or been the subject of numerous multi million pound transfers, each of which the clubs involved couldn't wait to get rid of him. But hey, not everyone can tick all your boxes of what makes a great striker.

I don't post on Twitter, just use it to keep up to date with news and sport etc....... Plus my full name's on view, so don't particularly want to post it on an anonymous Internet forum. Who knows what weirdo's are on here

Yes. The fact you mentioned two players who weren't signed by Rodgers.

So which Rogers signings have been sold at a loss? You said most of the 23.

I'm just conscious that you're looking a bit silly.

Oh dear.

posted on 3/6/15

I didn't say they had been sold for a loss. I said they would be sold for a loss.
Which of the following do you think will be sold for a profit?
Lovren, Alberto , Aspas, Balotelli, Lambert, Allen, Ilori, Lallana, Borini, Markovic,

Before you call me silly, please bare in mind you think Rodgers signed Suarez and Sterling.

posted on 3/6/15

Oh hush shhh.

I didn't think Suarez and Sterling were Rodgers signings. You said the majority of signings are misused, badly man managed and sold for a loss.

Granted they are not his signings but do you think Suarez was misused and badly man managed? Or do you think he uses those traits solely on his signings.

Fact is none of his signings have sold for a loss at this time so your statement is as poorly thought out as it is incorrect.

I want him given another chance only if he buckles up and actually starts trying
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How much does this guy get paid for "not trying"?

posted on 3/6/15

He gets £90k a week and if his tummy isn't poorly an appearance bonus.
