They will ruin him, they've already brought him up to be feasted on by Cena.
He's ran out of people to ruin so they're now bringing NXT guys up for the job

Strongly disagree. That would've applied if they'd built Owens up on Raw for a few months before serving him to Cena. To debut against Cena is something quite different.
This is a feud where Owens can't be ruined. If he winds up looking weak, which he hasn't yet (one legit victory with no screwyness each), it'll be put down to Owens' inexperience. This isn't like Bray Wyatt, where the character was at the peak of it's push only to have all the momentum deflated out of it - Cena's forte in heel crushing. Owens has no momentum to deflate, Cena can't hurt him right now.
If they return to this feud in a few years and Cena chews him out then Owens can be referred to as another victim of the Cena monster.
Owens has plenty of momentum, which is why he showed up on Raw in the first place. He looked unstoppable his whole time in NXT, now he's just another Cena victim.
he's been the guy that was gunna take over at the top for years now, even before he was at wwe and still kevin steen, it was obvious, even hogan was bigging him up
I don't watch NXT nor have I watched any ROH for approx. 10 years, so to me he's just a guy with a big indie reputation who they've thrown directly at Cena. He's still green as grass in my head so my impression of him can't possibly be damaged by this feud. Maybe I'm lucky in that respect.
But regardless, the most important fact here is Owens already holds a 100% squeaky clean victory over Cena, where there was no controversy what so ever. The only two guys I can recall doing that since 2005 are Orton at HIAC 09 (one clean win in a feud consisting of 20+ matches) & Lesnar at Summer Slam last year. That's a BIG deal.
People have a tendency to think if Cena wins a feud his opponent gets buried as a result on that fact alone, which isn't true at all. The problem is Cena's opponent looking weak every step of the way which so far Owens has not. Provided Cena doesn't hold clean victories in their remaining matches (I'm going to assume they'll be two more - one at Battleground with the blow off at Summer Slam), Owens will be fine even if he winds up losing the final match.
dont watch raw, smackdown, nxt, roh, do you actually watch any wrestling?
I'm down to just WWE PPV's as of the beginning of this year. I still watch Raw in bits and pieces but haven't watched a whole episode in ages.
Thinking about trying an NXT special at some point, haven't heard a single bad remark about a single one yet.
if you are going to watch nxt, watch it week in week out or its not worth it
Rusev was booked strong against Cena, yet now we barely see him and he's in some sort pointless story with Lana and Ziggler that will probably go nowhere.
Wyatt was set back almost a year and still isn't what he was after facing Cena. Owens will have lost momentum before he's even fully out of NXT ffs, it's ridiculous and he's probably only been on Raw because Cena has run out of people that he hasn't already ruined. What is the point of feuding with Cena when the best you're gonna get is 2 losses and 1 win? Where is the unpredictability?
If only they booked the main shows like they do NXT, that show is how it should be done. Anyone can suffer a loss and not appear weak, because they do it right.
On Raw, it's just "wrestler x goes over and wrestler y can fk off." I'm close to cutting down to just NXT to be honest.
Rusev is injured. That's why we barely see him.
Injury or not he was an after thought after Cena and will continue to be after he's back. Just the way it is
cena is holding a midcard title, thats what happens in the midcard
Anyone still want to argue that Owens won't be ruined? Currently in nothing matches against fellow victim Rusev after starting out looking like the next big thing. Never should have strayed out of NXT.
WWE
where exactly did you expect him to go after the feud?
Exactly where he is. It was kind of my whole point...
He got nothing out of it. Should've waited and brought him up to go after a face Rollins or something
I meant more there is no where else he could have with it making sense, if he won he was us champ so stayed there, if he lost then hes not gunna be boosted up as that makes no sense
he needed to be on the main roster, his time will come, if he went in straight at the top he would have flopped, it will work out fine for him this way
Anyone still want to argue that Owens won't be ruined?
-----------------------------------------------------------
Ruined is a strong word, he's still in a far greater position than the likes of Wyatt & Rusev were after being blown through by Hurricane Cena - but I'll admit the way he lost at Battleground via/tap out was damaging. Clearly only intended to build up Cena, without a second thought given to Owens, to win the title at Summer Slam.
It's not the end of the world. Wyatt is an example of a character who was ruined by Cena, he'll NEVER rediscover that postmodern Undertaker like aura he had before feuding with Cena. Owens is a slightly different case, he can start again without the pressure of living up to a pre-Cena perception people had about him on the main roster. As I mentioned in a comment on this thread awhile ago, not watching NXT probably aids my ability to see it in this light.
