I've not looked at the course for this year, but the Vuelta sometimes puts incredibly steep climbing sections which would lead me to think Quintana might edge it.

Yeah, if he has the form he could be a good bet although there is a 39km time trial which he will not like at all. Its incredibly difficult for cyclists to hold form for 2 grand tours in a row so that will be key. Van Garderen dropping out of the tour early could be to his advantage too.

I gave up predicting cycling though. It's just too random.

Nibali disqualified for holding on to a car.

Nibali was stupid to do that. I had a fiver on him as well. Ary looks the man just now and has prepared specifically for this unlike the others as well as looking in form.

I dont think it isbut you need to look at each stage and know the style of each rider to pick a winner which can be tricky. I had Thibaut Pinot each way at 200-1 last year so some cracking bets on outsiders can come up too. Picking a GC or a jersey winner should be achievable and i only bet on stages with character that i know are likely to narrow things down to punchers or climbers.

I've only had half an eye on it this year. Giro and TDF u will generally watch each stage.

The Vuelta, for the last few yrs anyway, has been most exciting grand tour to watch imo. Always edge of your seat in the mountains and always close. I prefer it to the Giro and its been more exciting than the TDF for last few yrs, excluding this years which was superb with a brilliant course. The line up for this years Vuelta was also as strong as the TDF , which is unusual. It was a great race and came right down to the final mountain stage.
