La Liga received the documents at 00:00:20, according to @jpedrerol
So that's 20 seconds too late right?
Isn't that still past midnight on the dot though?
Jonas Giæver @CheGiaevara
Last RT; Onda Cero now saying that both Real Madrid and Manchester United are claiming the the papers were sent before midnight.
It's the Spanish media (including Ballbag) over reacting as usual. Making the English side out to be the bad guys then the heroes at Madrid sorting it all out.
The mystery continues. What a bizarre day in transfer window history.
Why send the papers just before midnight anyway
Most likely this deal will happen, Real Madrid will do bribes.

Blame the fax machine !
Real can have no complaints if the deal doesn't go through. They have had all summer to submit an acceptable bid. They wait until a few hours before the end of the transfer deadline before they offer something acceptable to United. Its their own fault if they don't get him.
As much as I want united to be screwed over this will be funny to laugh at real over this
If the paperwork was not submitted in time then the deal will not go through. There is no precedent of extensions being granted in Spain as we found out ourselves in the Coentrao deal a few years back.

BREAKING: Manchester United sources have confirmed that the David de Gea transfer to Real Madrid has NOT gone through. #mufc [@hirstclass]
Why use a fax? Scan and emails easier
#MUFC sources confirm De Gea deal hasn't gone through. #MUFC insist they uploaded their documents into FIFA Transfer Matching System in time

Now we are hearing that United did send the documents on time but in a format that couldn't be opened at the LFP. Windows 95?
